local office has indicated a current lack of both crew and budget for tree trimming. We request clarification on whether tree branch cutting and ensuring adequate manpower availability fall under the consumer's responsibility or dept's. 2/2

@dineshbohrabmr प्रधानमंत्री जी की अपील पर बहुत से मंत्री और विधायक रोडवेज बसों, मैट्रो में सफ़र करते दिख रहे हैं और उसका प्रचार भी खूब हो रहा है। परंतु मैने बहुत साल पहले @ianuragthakur जी को आम यात्री की तरह दिल्ली से हमीरपुर बस में यात्रा करते देखा है,जब वह सांसद के साथ बीसीसीआई अध्यक्ष थे।

रोडवेज की वह सीट, जिस पर हमेशा “विधायक/सांसद आरक्षित” लिखा रहता है… आज उसी बस में 45 डिग्री की भीषण गर्मी के बीच शिक्षा मंत्री आम यात्री की तरह कोटा से बारां पहुंचे। सुबह कैमरामैन दिखने पर उन्हें ट्रोल किया गया, लेकिन दोपहर में वे बिना किसी शोर-शराबे के बस में सफर करते नजर आए। यह नाटक था या नीयत इसका फैसला अब जनता खुद करेगी।

The information he received alarmed him. Four Chinese tanks, supported by infantry, had begun moving up a steep mountain track towards Rechin La in eastern Ladakh. Joshi reported the movement to the chief of army staff, General Manoj Mukund Naravane, who immediately grasped the severity of the situation. The tanks were within a few hundred metres of Indian positions on the Kailash Range, the strategic high ground that Indian forces had seized, hours earlier, in a dangerous race with China’s People’s Liberation Army. In this terrain on the disputed Line of Actual Control—the de facto border between the two countries—every metre of elevation translates to strategic dominance. The Indian soldiers fired an illuminating round, a kind of warning shot. It had no effect. The Chinese kept advancing. Naravane began making frantic calls to the leaders of India’s political and military establishment, including Rajnath Singh, the defence minister; Ajit Doval, the national security advisor; General Bipin Rawat, the chief of defence staff; and S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs. “To each and every one my question was, ‘What are my orders?’” Naravane writes in his as-yet unpublished memoir, Four Stars of Destiny. The situation was deteriorating dramatically and demanded clarity. There was an existing protocol. Naravane had clear orders not to open fire “till cleared from the very top.” His superiors did not give any clear directive. Minutes ticked by. At 9.10 pm, Joshi called again. The Chinese tanks continued to advance and were now less than a kilometre from the pass. At 9.25 pm, Naravane called Rajnath again, asking “for clear directions.” None came. Meanwhile, a message arrived from the PLA commander, Major General Liu Lin. He proposed a cooling down of sorts: both sides should stop further movement, and local commanders would meet at the pass at 9.30 am the following morning, with three representatives each. It seemed like a reasonable proposition. For a moment, it appeared that an off-ramp was emerging. At 10 pm, Naravane called Rajnath and Doval to relay this message. Ten minutes later, Northern Command rang again. The Chinese tanks had not stopped. They were now only five hundred metres from the top. Naravane recalls Joshi saying that the “only way to stop them was by opening up with our own medium artillery, which he said was ready and waiting.” Artillery duels were routine on the Line of Control with Pakistan, where divisional and corps commanders had been delegated the authority to fire hundreds of rounds per day without asking anyone up the chain. But this was China. This was different. An artillery duel with the PLA could escalate into something far larger. “My position was critical,” Naravane writes. He was caught between “the Command who wanted to open fire with all possible means” and a government committee “which had yet to give me clear-cut executive orders.” In the operations room at army headquarters, options were being considered and discarded. The entire Northern Front was on high alert. Areas of likely clash were being monitored. But the decision point was at Rechin La. Naravane made yet another call to the defence minister, who promised to call back. Time stretched. Each minute was a minute closer to Chinese tanks reaching the top. Rajnath called back at 10.30 pm. He had spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose instructions consisted of a single sentence: “Jo uchit samjho, woh karo”—do whatever you deem appropriate. This was to be “purely a military decision.” Modi had been consulted. He had been briefed. But he had declined to make the call. “I had been handed a hot potato,” Naravane recalls. “With this carte blanche, the onus was now totally on me.”

@DealsDhamaka Repido has not killed their income, but they did this themselves. These same Ola/Uber drivers harassing customers by demanding extra pay and forcing ride cancellations. If a customer doesn't cancel, they won't even start for pickup.

Rapido killed my income … told my UBER driver this morning 🚕🚖 Booked Uber Intercity - 42 kms Rs. 1050 Was really happy to see an affordable price. But the Uber cab that came was a bit worn out … fully functioning, but I fire situation for some revamp I asked him, how is the Uber income ? What he told shocked me … He is doing Ola, Uber and Rapido and he says Rapido killed his income. He had a better car., but had to downgrade to a 2nd hand old car as he couldn’t pay the EMI. Uber and Ola used to take 20-30% commission and give the rest to the driver. They used to charge higher to the customer and that helped with higher income to driver as well - even post the commission. With Rapido, the commission business it’s gone. Its subscription business, pay Rs.150/day to get the app working… so that men’s Rapido has nothing to gain if customer pays high or low … so now they moved to competitive pricing strategy … show lowest price to get the customer to use their app. Flip side of it, some prices are so low that doesn’t even cover for the charges of the car. Now Uber, Ola also following the same model to compete with Rapido ,.. Driver needs to subscribe to all 3 apps @ Rs.450/day. So a sunk cost of Rs.500 even before they start to earn every day. Fares have reduced and they don’t get anything … Also AP cabs are not allowed in TS. So a lot of old cabs are back in AP, hence the wear and tear and old inventory. High supply, low demand, subscription business - all in all cab drivers are not even earning Rs.40000 Total driver got Rs.1500 for this ride. Check the comment
