I know your not sola scriptura. You can use other fathers or documents to make your case, but so far you haven’t given me much. I said you should use an authority beyond yourself to support your claims. I’ve used scripture, but scripture is quoting church fathers is it not? Scripture, the Spirit, and Christians in my life shape my walk with Christ. I listen to many leaders and experts which God has led me to. Some of those have even been EO, but you are saying things about the state of the soul and indwelling of the Holy Spirit that isn’t consistent with what is found in scripture. It is the only reason I said you may want to talk to your priest, because what I have heard from you, I haven’t heard from priests in the church. I may seek to have an audience with a priest myself to gain a better understanding of their view of the Holy Spirit and the documents and scriptures that led to those beliefs.

I didn’t use the word “inhibit” to mean to obstruct, I used “inhabit” to mean indwell. Probably an AC error, but wanted to be clear in case it wasn’t. Acts 19:1-7 talks about men who didn’t have the Spirit, receiving the Spirit. I asked the question to a priest if people outside the church, he agreed they could. Caveats to that was he believed the Spirit wouldn’t lead one away from orthodoxy but would lead them in the direction of orthodoxy, though not all people who receive the Spirit would be guaranteed to get to orthodoxy before their time on earth was complete. He said that anyone lead to orthodoxy was lead by the Spirit, but would agree they had the Spirit before orthodoxy. Now would that mean they received salvation? I’ll have to follow up at another time. I believe the claim you are proposing has to contend with people who have the Holy Spirit outside orthodoxy who are contributing to God’s Kingdom on earth. You’ve made it clear that your stance is orthodoxy is required to be saved, but that doesn’t seem to align with what John said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” Paul wrote to the Ephesians, “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.” Paul wrote in Romans, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” He also writes later in Romans, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart tha God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt believe saved.” Scripture declares over and over that anyone who believes of Jesus is saved by grace through faith. That person will be changed and will follow the teachings of Jesus, of course. If you disagree, please do so with scripture, or documents or sayings of religious leaders. You keep maintaining a position without showing anything to back it, this doesn’t give me any real reason to consider it. What does EO make of these verses? How do you reconcile what you’ve said with what is found in these passages? Why does God use non-EO to bring His kingdom to the world? Why does God guide people outside the Orthodox Church to do things like finding the person for them? Finding the church He wants them to be a part of? Placing them in work environments with people whose hearts He’s been molding? These happenings aren’t arbitrary, but testimonies of people who seek God, listen to God, and focus on growing their relationship with God. It sounds like God recognizes them as His children, and they respond to Him when He calls them to respond. Also, when did I mention “general conviction” or “moral impulses“ with indwelling? From your theological perspective you seem to be assuming such a conclusion, which is understandable, but that is different and misrepresenting the conclusion I actually have. Based on the verses I provided, anyone can come to Christ and receive the Spirit and never even heard of orthodoxy. Anyone who receives the Spirit is adopted into God’s family and becomes a part of the Church, that is, individual temples (human bodies) housing the Holy Spirit. It seems we will disagree on this point, but I have given you several verses supporting my claims.

I see his side of it. When I was a student visiting for two weeks, we got the JR rail pass. I’m curious if the expectation is gaijin don’t have family, or friends and need to get around and that usually they travel one-way or round trip only on average. When we were there we traveled from Tokyo to Osaka to Hiroshima, back to Osaka and flew to Tokyo. Not making it back a full round trip from where we began, we spent more than twice as much. I’m curious on average how many gaijin use the rail pass in a way where they benefit in savings versus gaijin who don’t. But if I were to live in a Japan and have access to it, I could do round trips every weekend for savings or even live on the railways so to speak. Is the Japanese government making more off gaijins than the Japanese here? Also, if Japanese had such a deal would the train system become more crowded and harder to get tickets for? I do t know the answers to these, but I would certainly consider them. What do y’all think?

Oh Japans railways… I just cannot forgive them. Response may contain SPOILERS for DA:V: I love Dragon Age! Yup the wokeness was forced in to say the least. But to me it wasn’t an overwhelming part of the story and you didn’t have to romance the characters. To build friendship you did have to help her with her relationship with her mom and so-on. Other DAs had LGB stuff so, for me, I just rolled with it like I did Sera, Liliana, Alistair, and Dorian (among others). Friend, good at fighting, eh I don’t see what you see, but if you’re gonna go that way, I’m still happy to have you fighting on my side. The story was good, but I would put the overall game only above DA2 (DA Inquisition, DA Origins and DA Awakening above those). The developer’s heart did seem to be as in it as Inquisition and Origins, some of the story was forced, but the game was overall enjoyable, with a good story, more canon, and Tevinter. I did start a second play through but got distracted by other things. To me, and don’t like the force feeding of woke agenda and ideology, but as far as games go, to me, it was overall enjoyable. I’d encourage DA fans to try it just for the extra lore. But yeah, it got gender confusion and gender identity built into a character. All the characters are apparently “pansexual”, as they are all romance-able, but in my play through I was a dude not hitting on men with the romance prompt and flirting and activating romance options with the females my character had in their party. Eventually I chose one and it became monogamous. If I remember correctly, there is one character that is willing to have a secret fling/ encounter without any romance with the intent of keeping it a secret. So the player can actually cheat in the relationship, strange, but it’s there. But for my play through, I found it mostly curtailed to my preferences which left a lot of wokeness out, besides the part I mentioned earlier. If you still decide not to try it, I get it, but this comes from a person who doesn’t support “woke” agenda and played through the whole game.

And that right there is my underlying fear… I waited for 10 for dragon age, only to be severely disappointed and didn’t buy it out of spite after seeing the videos stupid woke bullshit video and abomination of the character creations and the butchering of the entire franchise. I bought DA:O a week after launch and played it dozens of time, doing the same with DA2 and DAI… How they murdered the franchise needs to be studied… I also love Dragons Dogma, but I heard nothing but some bad things about it so I didn’t jump in on trying that game either, that one I might give a try once I have some extra money because I also played the first one and I really have alot of fun! With new Fable, the more I see, the anger I get. I was shilling hard for that one a while back trying to white pill because I’ve played all the Fable games and that’s a another franchise I hold close to heart but now I’m quite PO’d with how that’s turning out… I’m going to wait for reviews to decided if I want to try it or not. As for Elder Scrolls, that’s the longest franchise I’ve played, starting with Morrowind. I’ve put COUNTLESS hours into Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO… If they botch ES6 I’m going to be beyond heartbroken. 💜🎻🩸

I recommend you talk with your priest. The priests won’t deny the Holy Spirit inhabits people outside orthodoxy. You are disregarding, not what I say, but what Jesus and his apostles said. If you were interested in knowing what was true or not, and if you were interested in helping other souls understand what you so vehemently have come to believe is the absolute truth, should you not do so in patience and humility? Should you not approach them with the love Jesus modeled for us? You seem bent on trying to judge everyone, but don’t seem to care at all about leading others to your understanding. You rail against me, but don’t use an opportunity of exposing a “heretic” to attempt to draw any person reading this to orthodoxy. You call people heretics, and when they quote scripture you cop-out saying, you don’t need to use scripture to defend your position. It is this kind of behavior that pushes people away from the church. Do you know how foolish that makes you look? It is how scholars are expected to support their claims, by providing resources to give their authority weight. You haven’t said anything to suggest your claim is anything more than your own opinion. You think only orthodox Christians have the Spirit? Then use the God’s words to support that claim. His words will not contradict the Spirit. If you cannot show me irrefutably what God inspired through man in the scriptures supports the belief that only orthodox Christians are Christian and everyone is going to hell, then you are making claims that are not scripturally sound, and by which is not from God. Really, go see your priest, and show him your messages, and see what he says.

I hope you feel better soon. There have been a lot of storms around the US this past weekend which can cause migraines. It may be the sudden change in barometric pressure. There could be other causes, but I’ve known people who get migraines when a storm is coming. Light, dehydration, and withdrawal from caffeine can be other causes. Maybe some of these will help pin down what could be triggering yours.

I wish this dull, low grade migraine would go away. If it stays any longer, I’m going to charge it rent. FFS! 💜🎻🩸

I still disagree. There are places in the world where Christians are persecuted and can’t have temples or churches. They worship secretly in houses. The word Jesus used to describe the Church was “ecclesia” which meant gathering of people. The word Luther used when translating “ecclesia” to German was “kirche”is a building of worship. Jesus said he would build his ecclesia upon Peter “the rock” Matthew 16:18. What does Peter say about the ecclesia, the Body? In 1 Peter 2:4-10 Peter describes us as stones of the ecclesia. According to what Peter wrote we are a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, who offer up spiritual sacrifice to God. Read Peter and show me where he talks of the ecclesia as a temple or building. Peter is not the end all of scripture, but one should not only prescribe to Paul or only to Peter, but take what God inspired through them as a whole (1 Corinthians 1:12). Our bodies are the temples, when we sin with our bodies we desecrate the temple of God for the Holy Spirit dwells within us (1 Corinthians 6:19). We should gather and fellowship, but the absence of physical building like temples and churches doesn’t prevent our fellowship and worship or ability to grow our relationship with God. I believe people should go to church and be involved in the church when the places they live in make it accessible, but I maintain temples and churches are not critical in this world to worship God (Hebrews 10:25, Galatians 6:2, Philippians 2:1-2). As Christians bring God’s Kingdom to the world, churches will be built, grow, and spread, as is the nature of plants under light. But even if one is in prison and cannot for whatever reason attend church, they can still praise and worship God for they are the Church. Call me whatever names you want, this is my position. Use scripture to refute my claims, but let’s be loving with one another in our exchanges, seeking understanding, and not resign ourselves to name calling in our discussions to seek truth remembering as the Body of Christ we are ambassadors of Christ, so that when people observe or actions, they should be led to also glorify God because of what they see in our action (Matthew 5:16).
