i find it so difficult to rewatch this scene, people tend to overlook how eren was constantly willing to harm himself as a way to keep pushing forward. it was evident in the earlier seasons too, he constantly treated himself as something expendable

@Icothird The anime episode of this released almost a year before that founding titan form even got revealed in the manga (ch 130). I doubt Isayama specifically asked them to somehow 'foreshadow' it by showing a vague shape for half a second, that has otherwise no symbolic significance.

This is one of the few things that are very clearly not deliberate and pure coincidence from the anime adaptation
