the impact on legacy games was not an intended outcome of the roblox kids and select global rollout. we are actively working on a fix. the latest: - games published before april 13, 2026 will maintain 16+ access, provided they have a completed content maturity questionnaire, regardless of the creator’s facial age estimation status. - if a creator edits the game or its questionnaire after april 13, that triggers a publish event and the new publishing requirements will apply.

Roblox has made every single game created by non-age checked accounts, despite their maturity rating, completely unplayable and inaccessible now. Thanks Roblox!

This was added for the same reason they banned schlep. A third party system related to moderation, even if it does work well and effectively prevent bad actors, is not in the best interest of the platform because it's a third party. How would you feel if you managed an apartment building, and a tenant decided to install their own security system in the main lobby? Even if it effectively stops thieves, you have no control over it, no oversight on their data privacy, and you’re the one liable if it goes wrong.
