The FAA's official notice cites "special security reasons" for the 10-day closure, designating the area as National Defense Airspace. Details are scarce, but sources suggest it could involve national security or military operations. No further explanation has been released as of now. Check FAA.gov for updates.

The FAA is closing the airspace around El Paso International Airport in Texas for 10 days, grounding all flights to and from the airport, for “special security reasons." The FAA's notice did not provide additional details. apnews.com/article/faa-el…

The people calling me "left" now for doing what I've always done (supporting freedom and the Constitution)and all those who said I was "right-wing" for doing so in the past show how bankrupt those terms are. They're are just terms to divide us now folks! They've lost all meaning.

In the last few years we've seen: - The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer - The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC - The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi - Multiple assassination attempts against Trump - The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife - Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson - The assassination of Charlie Kirk Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all. The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.

Stop trying to win a primary you can't. Switch parties and run against the status quo. We'll use our votes to elect you. They designed the system to silence you. Now, let's use their own system against them. This is how we break the duopoly and get our voice back.

Gerrymandering has made your vote obsolete.... And it's only getting worse. In many districts, the general election is just a formality. The real decision is made in the primary of the dominant party. So, here's a radical idea: stop wasting your vote.

If you live in a district controlled by the other side, switch your party registration. Cast your vote in their primary for the most reasonable candidate. And to any moderate politician tired of the extremism: it's time to make a brave move.

Has there ever been a bigger bunch of nanny staters than MAGA, Inc.? They’re obsessed with federalizing & outlawing everything. Far too many laws are already on the books. They’re creating a dystopia in which We the People submit to a central government monitoring our every move.

Let's just add to this the latest stuff POTUS has said...that he's going to principally target democratic areas with federal law enforcement. (because)"These and other cities are the core of the Democratic power center" (from his own post). THIS IS NOT NORMAL. Wake up!

The man refers to a ton of Americans with words like "scum". Please point to same example where any other President ever did this. To suggest he is like all the other presidents we've had is inane.

He has refused his assent to laws the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has obstructed the administration of justice For imposing taxes on us without our consent; For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury; For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses....

Different physical standards for men and women in the U.S. military have existed for a long time. BUT, there were also combat roles that were male-only. Then, under Obama, all combat roles were opened to men AND women. BUT, different physical fitness standards for men and women remained. Today at @DeptofDefense — we fix this. All combat roles are open to men and women BUT they must all meet the same, high standard. No standards will be lowered AND all combat roles will only have sex-neutral standards. Common sense.

This is exactly why we need due process. Pro-deportation people will say "but non-citizens don't have the same rights." Okay, fine... but how do we know who is a citizen or not unless there's a process? No one has to prove they belong here—the government has to prove they don't.
ProPublica@propublica

ICE officers arrested 54-year-old Julio Noriega and moved him into a van before he could explain himself, he said. He spent several hours in an ICE processing center before officers checked his wallet and realized he is a U.S. citizen. propublica.org/article/ice-wa…

Then perhaps you misunderstand the goal of the constitutional framers. They had a triage list. The number one thing on that list was not "effective lawmaking" it was "autocratic king prevention". The inefficiency in the system is the price we pay for forestall autocracy.
Derekbutta@derekbutts550

@dccommonsense I'd argue at this point it is almost impossible to inact change or even function within the constitution as the federal government without a complete overhaul. For better or worse congress simply has become a cluster and do long as we can't vote on single issues nothing gets done

I shared this note with the Washington Post team this morning: I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages. We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others. There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job. I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity. I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment — I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction. I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void. Jeff
