For nationalists, using the law to pursue their legacy and culture agendas is not only acceptable, but to be encouraged and celebrated. However, they believe unionism is not equally permitted to use the law. Because the law is only for nationalists, they think. Think again.

"Four years of delay and denial" - Portadown residents celebrate High Court victory in dual-language signage case. Residents of Woodside Hill of Garvaghy Road presented Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon Council (ABC) with a valid petition requesting a dual-language street sign in 2022. In 2023 ABC Council carried out a survey of all residents on the street. With only three residents voting against the signage, the council rejected it.

The Irish language lobby don’t want equality; they demand supremacy. They want Irish forced down everyone’s throat. It is a metaphorical bullet in their campaign for a United Ireland. Any unionist who can’t see that is wilfully deluded themselves.

Post 1998 nationalism has waged a long cultural war through media, academia, civic society & political institutions. The aggressive agenda is now very pronounced in the Universities. Young unionists must engage in the culture war & fight back, in particular in QUB & UU.
