@peasoupblu On the left is Sultanahmet square and the blue mosque. Most likely you’ll be bussed back to here. On the right are a couple of streets with some decent bars, one Irish bar. All open till late. We had a great time round here 👍🏻

@peasoupblu Sultanahmet is your best bet really. Chances are you’ll be shuttled by bus to stadium from there. We were. So it’s best to be near there I’d suggest for when you’re returned.

@JaymoAV Arriving at 21.00 so metro into city, given time, is it worth just staying at end of line Gayrettepe or should I head to Sultanahamet

@CapitalR @MrsM0610 Yeah it’s cashless, card only. Terrible facilities though. Only one small window serving food on each tier, and one set of inadequate toilets. Be prepared!

@JaymoAV @MrsM0610 Fair enough. Each to their own. I’ll probably try to revisit a few spots around there. Did they let you pay contactless inside the stadium for food etc?

@CapitalR @MrsM0610 Yeah, we were advised to stay away from there on matchday. Allegedly a Fenerbahce area, although seemed unlikely due to location? 🤷🏼‍♂️ I just didn’t like the vibe of the place tbh.

@MrsM0610 Also, please avoid Taksim, north of the Golden Horn and east of Beyoğlu. Not a very nice part of town, and to be avoided tbh.

@MrsM0610 It’s not as “lively” here but still loads of great bars, cafes, restaurants etc. If it’s nightlife you’re after go north of the Golden Horn to Beyoğlu. Younger crowd, more late night bars

@MrsM0610 I recommend anywhere near Sultanahmet Square. I’ve marked the square on the map, plus the hotel where I stayed, about 15 mins walk away. Get closer to square if you can. Hotels can be good value, I paid £184 for 5 nights!

@JaymoAV @AVFCMarkM @avfc_stef @mdejongofficial I stop til the end 99.9999% of games but if I also have something to do after a game then leaving 5 minutes early and saving over a hour travel time helps And can you not understand what difference getting home over an hour earlier can be for people who have kids etc??

I’ve left myself once or twice early and had a lift of someone for a 3pm KO Leave at FT get home around 6:45-7pm Leave around 85-87mins get home before 5:30
