Trump on re-opening the Strait of Hormuz: "Let France do it, they get a lot of oil from the strait. Let the Europeans do it. Let South Korea, who is not helpful to us, by the way…Let South Korea do it. Let Japan do it… This was not part of what I wanted to do."

@Hudson11630916 @TheTNHoller Funny, California could afford to fund this assistance for low income families…I don’t think that would be possible for South Dakota. Many red states would actually be fucked, especially those with no state tax, so limited mechanisms to raise taxes on its citizens…

@TheTNHoller Daycare is a local and state issue and should be funded as such. The people of South Dakota should not be paying to raise a kid in California that fucking simple.

CAMPAIGN TRUMP: “Child care is child care. You have to have it. We’re going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people. America first.” PRESIDENT TRUMP: “We can’t take care of daycare. Just military.” 🤔 🤷🏼 #StopTheWar

@Adr0ckk @MurieAnita1 @JonCanada2 @BulwarkOnline @jasmineweidenb1 This is about national defense spending , not alliance dues. This chart shows the entire U.S. military budget, not the financial payments into NATOs budget. Misleading at best. Again, this is not how much we spend on NATO, this shows our entire defense budget

@bornashofficial @VigilantFox They “cheated” only after the U.S. unilaterally pulled out. They were in compliance up until that point. We have short memories. We’re just trying to put in place something that was already in place lmao…just wasted a couple of billion and a few lives to do so

Bill O’Reilly just laid out new predictions on how he sees the war in Iran playing out. Here’s what his “information flow” says is “likely to happen” in the next “couple of weeks”: • “Iran’s going to have to make a deal because Trump’s not going to stop.” • “The deal is going to look like Iran will allow weapons inspectors in… to examine what’s going on with the nukes. They’ll stop enriching, and they will destroy their ballistic missile capacity.” • “In return, there’ll be more favorable economic treatment for Iran on a rebuild basis.” • “Trump knows he’s not going to get regime change… That’s not going to happen unless the Persian people rise up.” • “Within a space of a couple of weeks, this thing will cease, and some kind of an arrangement will be made so that the Mullahs can tell their people they didn’t lose and Trump can tell his people they won: ‘We won. America won.’” • “That’s what’s likely to happen.”

uhhh yeah that's 100% what I would do in his situation. America cut a denuclearisation deal with Iran, dropped out, then murdered the head of state during diplomacy. why would anyone pursue any strategy other than deterrence?

@IAmArcIvanov @CalTh1726 @tylerasheppard1 @DrEricDing Foreign imposed transitions historically hardly ever work. We’re going to drop a few bombs, devastate the people of Iran, destabilize, get a few of our soldiers killed, then pull back. That’s the history of war in the Middle East.

You don't understand how different Iranian society is from Iraq or Afghanistan or even Saudi Arabia. The population of Iran is extremely urban wants to be modern and loves the US (except for the clerics and their supporters and they are an oppressive minority). We are not going to establish democracy they will either chose that or get a transitional monarchy. At any rate if we destroy their missiles, launchers, the factories to make both, their nuclear program and kill most of their clerics and IRGC command there regime will have a very hard time surviving. And if we come in with specops to secure their fissile materials then while the country is in ruins we're safe even if there is a societal collapse. You can't bring democracy to someone who doesn't know what it is or wants it. But our goals are much more demure and operationally achievable. It would be nice if Iran could be a flourishing country but if it ultimately isn't we still achieve our goals.

Dear fellow Americans—please learn geography of why the world is in trouble if Iran crisis spirals out of control. Also, Iran is 3.5x the size of Iraq. If the US couldn’t hold Iraq after 10 years, Trump is insane if he wants to ground invade Iran.

@IAmArcIvanov @CalTh1726 @tylerasheppard1 @DrEricDing ur massively overestimating how much ordinary Iranians love the US, how small the regime’s real base is, and how “clean” a war would be. Framing it as ‘good people vs tiny bad clerics’ misses the tangled power network, succession layers. Ur spewing fantasy fiction homie.

Tonight, we reached an agreement with the Department of War to deploy our models in their classified network. In all of our interactions, the DoW displayed a deep respect for safety and a desire to partner to achieve the best possible outcome. AI safety and wide distribution of benefits are the core of our mission. Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement. We also will build technical safeguards to ensure our models behave as they should, which the DoW also wanted. We will deploy FDEs to help with our models and to ensure their safety, we will deploy on cloud networks only. We are asking the DoW to offer these same terms to all AI companies, which in our opinion we think everyone should be willing to accept. We have expressed our strong desire to see things de-escalate away from legal and governmental actions and towards reasonable agreements. We remain committed to serve all of humanity as best we can. The world is a complicated, messy, and sometimes dangerous place.

@JerSimply @GaryMichaelDoan @VanJones68 It's like saying, since you need a home address to register to vote & show residency, buying a home or paying rent is a fee to vote.🙄 IDs like homes are generally something people get not just to vote but to work, travel... I'm sure we can all afford $34 for 1 birth-certificate

Voter ID? Fine. Over 80% of Americans support access. BUT don’t create a rule without building the ramp: if the federal government won’t step up to make IDs free, easy, and universal — then you’re not solving fraud. But you are keeping lawful citizens from voting. #StateOfTheUnion
