50 Cent was voluntarily paying his baby mama Shaniqua Tompkins (mother of his son Marquise) around $25k–$40k per month, which was $300k to $500k a year in child support during the mid-2000s, with no court order. When she complained it wasn’t enough and pushed for even more (reportedly up to $50k/month) in family court, 50 Cent took himself to court in Long Island to get the amount officially set by New York guidelines. The judge slashed it to just $6,700 per month (including housing allowance). That’s over an 80% reduction from what he’d been paying voluntarily.
