Something I hear every holiday season: "I didn't realize how much Mom/Dad had declined until I saw them in person." If estate planning conversations with aging parents are on your horizon, stay tuned. I'll be covering the how and when of these talks soon.

PLEASE READ: This is a very hard post for me to make, but I want people to know the reality of fluctuations that can happen on a journey like this. The water retention can really put a blind over your progress. Earlier this month, the scale was actually down into the low 460s. My relationship with this number has been rough, you all know that. But I’ve also learned and want to showcase that there are many other ways to measure progress on this journey. This month has been crazy. I’ve been traveling and I’ve also been pushing myself more than I have in my entire life. The amount of effort I’m putting in to both the work in the gym and the habits that I’m trying to build, is something I didn’t even know I was capable of. I’ve been walking 11,000+ steps a day, training hard at the gym nearly every day, and I honestly feel a lot better than I did at the beginning of October. So at the end of the day, even though the scale didn’t change much this month (when comparing 1st to 1st), I have no doubt in my mind that the difference between November 1 and December 1 is going to be one of the largest drops I’ve ever had. One hell of a woosh is coming, get ready. I promise the fruits of my labor will be visible soon. #weightlossjourney

“Older adults don’t grow more independent — they grow more reliant.” That shift is what makes caregiving so uniquely challenging especially when you're also balancing a job, a family, and your own well-being. #CaregiverSupport #WorkLifeBalance #CaregivingReality #Learn2Care
