@JaredLankes You're not wrong about Gonzales, but trying to argue Hayes in any way is irresponsible. Even if he can play 3b better, I'd rather have a cardboard cut out hitting than him.

Sure they have done some good things this offseason but they did some funky things with their resources prior to that which has put them in a position where the bottom 3 guys in their lineup are yikes. Gonzales could reek defensively at 3B too. At least Hayes wouldn’t.

The Pirates traded their 3B away last year, now don’t have a 3B. They moved their SS to CF two years ago and now don’t have a real SS (until Griffin comes up). They traded their closer for a catcher who is in AAA and can’t get on the roster ahead of Davis and Bart.

@KodyDuncanPGH if he agreed to a 6-7 year deal for 100m, he should fire his agent immediately and check himself into western Psych. you are going to have to offer him 20m a year to even have a chance.
