On ne va pas soutenir une junte militaire qui n’a aucun programme de développement et dont le seul objectif est de s’accrocher au pouvoir le plus longtemps possible.
On ne va pas soutenir une junte qui refuse de faire de l’éducation une priorité absolue, alors que 50 % de la population malienne a moins de 14 ans et seulement 30% des maliens savent lire et écrire.
Se focaliser sur la jeunesse pourrait transformer le pays en une génération. Mais culturellement, les enfants maliens sont souvent traités comme des accessoires.
Avec l’intelligence artificielle, nous sommes à un tournant historique. Le Mali n’a plus le choix, il doit miser massivement sur les cerveaux de sa jeunesse.
C’est une preuve d’intelligence de reconnaître sa médiocrité. Il faut des dirigeants qui aient le courage de dire la vérité aux hommes, certaines pratiques culturelles, comme la polygamie chaotique, sont des freins au développement.
Il faut éduquer massivement les filles, car c’est prouvé, quand les femmes sont éduquées, toute la société avance.
Les Maliens veulent aller où ? Avec 30 % d’alphabétisation ? Avec la moitié de la population sans accès à l’eau ni à l’électricité ? Avec une corruption généralisée et des institutions fragiles ?
Il est temps d’avoir l’intelligence de faire appel à des experts de pays qui ont réussi à sortir de la pauvreté extrême en une génération comme Singapour, le Rwanda ou la Corée du Sud.

I can understand why Sahelian governments refer to jihadists and other armed groups as "terrorists" but that's no reason for analysts to use the term. It reflects a bankrupt "natsec" ideology, has no analytical value, and obscures what these groups are and how they operate.
