We’ve seen attempts lately to shut the public out of court hearings or limit media access, therefore limiting the public’s access. An important thread showing how we as journalists fight for transparency and your right to know:

@thecoldpodcast @kslnewsradio @KSL5TV My colleague @ashergrey, who has covered this case extensively both in and outside of @thecoldpodcast, believes it could take at least a year or more to get to a new sentencing trial, which then has its own appeals process, potentially setting the case back up to 10 years. 11/11

@thecoldpodcast @kslnewsradio @KSL5TV the state, while not suggesting a different timeline, indicated prosecutors believe it will be longer to make that happen. Even once that person is hired, they'll have to get up to speed on a very complicated case that's been dragging on for decades. (10/?)

Meeting with young Utahns like Willow gives me a lot of hope. She’s 12, engaged in the process, and determined to do something most adults probably couldn’t pull off: collect an autograph for everyone in the legislative book. Today I was glad to add mine. Now she’s down to just one more — the First Lady’s. I may know someone who can help with that.
