The Spanish exchange 2023-2024 with @iesislaverde is about to draw to a close. The UR students had a fantastic time in Algeciras in October & our guests have had a very busy and fun week in Worcester. Tonight the Spanish beat KSW at football.

One of the most valuable experiences for a language learner is to participate in a host family exchange. Our year 10 students stayed with their Spanish hosts in Algeciras in October and yesterday we welcomed them to Worcester. @iesislaverde

When you learn a language at school, you're learning history, music, geography, politics, sociology, sport, science, literature & more. French leads to Spanish & Italian. German opens up Danish & Dutch. Languages add value to every subject & take your world view to another level.

Overall the Russian Delegation received a Commendation for their efforts during the conference. Well done everyone and particular thanks to Mr Ball for giving up his weekend to drive our minibus, particularly given the weather conditions on Saturday.

Our students worked hard and were rewarded with recognition in the form of Commended, Highly Commended and Best Delegate awards in their Committees.

Louisa K (Science & Tech Cttee) received a Highly Commended; Ollie H (Environment Cttee) was Commended; Sophie R (Human Rights) not only Highly Commended but also Best Young Delegate. And Riya M was awarded Best Delegate in the Security Council - a tremendous achievement.

Model United Nations is a very special club which allows young students to engage with real global issues, and to bring their fresh perspective to debates on how to resolve the issues through listening, negotiation, and compromise.
