Peter Thiel and Marc Andreessen both said the elite founders of the future will be polymaths, not specialists.
Here’s why:
👉 Go deep if you want to be an employee.
👉 Go wide if you want to be a founder.
AI handles depth on demand now.
The scarce skill is pattern recognition across domains - knowing which depths to pull, when, and how they connect.
Specialists optimize existing systems.
Polymaths build new ones 🎨
AI and Web3 is reaching new highs and you simply cannot miss a thing ‼️
The xAI Valuation Reaches New Highs
Elon Musk’s AI startup, xAI, has reached a staggering $50 billion valuation, surpassing the $44 billion he paid for Twitter, now rebranded as X. This milestone follows a $5 billion funding round that doubled xAI’s valuation from earlier this year, signaling rapid growth since its founding in 2023 as an alternative to OpenAI. Major investors, including Valor Equity Partners, Sequoia Capital, and Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, are backing the venture, which has raised $11 billion in 2024 alone. Meanwhile, X continues to face financial struggles, with advertising revenue challenges and a September valuation of just $9.4 billion by Fidelity, marking a steep decline from Musk's acquisition price. Musk’s push into AI reflects his ambitions to rival OpenAI, a company he co-founded in 2015 but left in 2019, and his ongoing legal battles accusing OpenAI and Microsoft of monopolistic practices add further intrigue to his AI endeavors.
McDonald's Brings Web3 Mainstream
McDonald’s has teamed up with Web3 brand Doodles for the “GM Spread Joy” campaign, bringing Doodles’ vibrant rainbow-themed graphics to McCafe cups across the US starting November 18. Purchasers of hot drinks can unlock exclusive perks, including access to the pilot episode of Doodles’ animated series Dullsville, digital apparel for avatars in the Doodles Stoodio app, and collectible enamel pins. This collaboration builds on McDonald’s past Web3 experiments, such as NFTs for the McRib’s 40th anniversary, and highlights growing brand interest in Web3 engagement. Meanwhile, esports leader Team Liquid launched MyBlue, a fan engagement platform on the Sui blockchain, where fans can customize avatars, earn digital collectibles, and access exclusive physical rewards like signed jerseys or event tickets. By integrating blockchain seamlessly, both McDonald’s and Team Liquid are exploring innovative ways to enhance user experience and bridge the physical and digital worlds.
Samsung Reveals Gauss2
Samsung has unveiled Gauss2, its second-generation proprietary AI model designed to revolutionize user experiences with advanced multimodal capabilities. Available in Compact, Balanced, and Supreme variants, Gauss2 adapts to various computational needs, from on-device optimization to high-performance tasks using Mixture of Experts (MoE) technology. Supporting nine to fourteen languages and a range of programming languages, the model boasts response speeds up to three times faster than leading open-source alternatives, enhancing productivity tools like Samsung’s coding assistant ‘code.i’ and the Gauss Portal. These tools are already widely adopted within Samsung’s DX Division, streamlining tasks such as document summarization, translation, and call center operations. As part of its “AI for All” strategy, Samsung plans to integrate Gauss2 across its product ecosystem, offering features like chart analysis, image creation, and personalized AI experiences. The announcement at SDC24 Korea showcased Samsung’s vision to incorporate AI into SmartThings, healthcare, and home appliances, further solidifying its commitment to innovative, AI-driven solutions.
The EU Reveals the AI Code of Practice
The EU has unveiled the “First Draft General-Purpose AI Code of Practice,” a landmark step toward regulating general-purpose AI models. Developed with input from industry, academia, and civil society, the draft addresses transparency, risk mitigation, and copyright compliance. It outlines systemic risks like cyber threats and disinformation, proposing a taxonomy to manage evolving challenges and a framework for safety and security with measurable KPIs. The Code emphasizes compliance, risk reporting, and independent assessments for high-risk models, aligning with the EU AI Act.

Here’s to innovation, collaboration, and building a more inclusive creative world!
The NVIDIA AI Summit happened this week in Japan, and Jensen Huang was in attendance.
Here are the key takeaways from it for you!
AI’s Dual Power: Digital Agents & Physical AI
At the summit, Jensen Huang highlighted two types of AI driving global transformation: digital and physical AI. Digital AI refers to intelligent software agents like advanced virtual assistants, customer service bots, or AI models capable of reasoning and problem-solving. These agents have the power to boost human productivity by performing complex, multi-step tasks that would otherwise take significant time and resources. They effectively "do 50% of the work for 100% of the people," enabling businesses to scale their operations without reducing their human workforce.
Physical AI, on the other hand, refers to robotics and autonomous machines capable of performing tasks in the physical world, from industrial robots on factory floors to autonomous vehicles. Japan has long been a leader in robotics, with a history of creating some of the world’s best robots. Combining Japan’s prowess in mechatronics with new AI capabilities opens the door for more advanced, self-learning robots that can adapt to new environments and tasks.
SoftBank + NVIDIA Collaboration: Japan’s Largest AI Supercomputer
One of the summit’s major announcements was the partnership between SoftBank and NVIDIA to build Japan’s most powerful AI supercomputer, powered by NVIDIA’s Blackwell platform. This supercomputer will support the development of sovereign AI—AI models and tools specifically tailored to Japan’s language, culture, and needs. One key area of focus is LLMx, like ChatGPT, which can be trained in the Japanese language to provide AI services that are more accurate and culturally relevant for Japan. Beyond just AI model development, this massive computing infrastructure will be made available to researchers, students, and startups nationwide, empowering a new wave of innovation. This initiative aims to make AI resources accessible to a broad range of people, enabling faster progress and reducing barriers to AI development in Japan.
World’s First AI + 5G Network: Unlocking Telecom Opportunities
SoftBank and NVIDIA also introduced the world’s first AI and 5G combined network, known as AI-RAN (radio access network). This innovation allows AI and 5G workloads to run simultaneously on the same infrastructure, meaning telecom providers can handle large volumes of data more efficiently and in real-time. It opens up new revenue streams for telecom companies by enabling smarter, faster, and more connected networks. For example, telecom providers can offer AI-driven services that enhance user experiences, such as real-time video analytics, predictive maintenance of infrastructure, or AI-powered customer service solutions. This “intelligent network” could essentially become a large-scale neural network for Japan, connecting people, machines, and AI systems in a way that accelerates digital transformation.
Japan’s Mechatronics Expertise + AI Breakthroughs = Robotics Leadership
Japan has a rich history of excellence in mechatronics, a multidisciplinary field combining mechanical engineering, electronics, and computing. This expertise places Japan in a unique position to capitalize on AI advancements. Huang emphasized that as AI enables machines to learn, adapt, and make decisions autonomously, Japan’s robotics industry can scale to new heights. With advanced AI, robots no longer need to be pre-programmed for every task. Instead, they can learn from data and adapt to different situations, opening up possibilities in manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and beyond. For example, AI-powered robots could work alongside humans in factories, improving efficiency and reducing costs. Japan’s skillset in this field gives it a head start in the AI-powered robotics revolution.
