They weren't explorers; they were tourists. No one would have benefited from their experience but them. May they rest in peace, dear tourists.

This brings to mind Everest summits: There's no new ground to explore, it's just dangerous, costly tourism for bragging rights. The wreck has given all it can. Let all of it rest in history.
