My Flame
In me,
a fire lives quietly
not wild, not consuming,
but steady in its knowing.
It begins as a glow
behind my thoughts,
a warmth that gathers
whenever I choose to rise.
When I speak,
the flame leans forward,
as if eager to shape the world
with the heat of my intent.
When I laugh,
it crackles bright
a brief constellation
built from sparks.
And even in stillness,
when the night feels heavier
than it should,
my ember remains
a promise I carry,
a light that does not ask
to be seen
to keep burning.
