Nikki Scott's husband Lee was killed in Afghanistan in 2009.. she's gone on to set up one of the most inspirational charities in the UK that looks after children bereaved by service. There's much more Government can do for these young people, and I will make sure that we do.

Seems a long time ago - it’s 17 years since @MarkOrmrod, I, and many others first fought in Afghanistan. Then and now this guy inspires me and my work as Veteran’s Minister. The epitome of recovery. Deeply proud of his service, the Nation is deeply proud of him. 🇬🇧

A chilly morning in London but a warm meeting with the Republic of Korea’s Veterans Minister. It’s the 70th anniversary of the Korean War where we lost 1,109 servicemen and 2,673 were wounded. We will honour them later this year in Korea and take some veterans back. #neverforget

The Gloucestershire veterans BOTG were on the Brecon Beacons and you can see the Black Mountain with Lake Llyn y Fan Far. BOTG covered 15 miles of stunning scenery in sunshine and they look forward to doing this challenging route with veterans and young people in the future.
