At the time of diagnosis, my son nearly died. He spent days on life support in the ICU at Children's Hospital.
I know what it's like to BEG God not to take my child away.
If I can prevent another parent from going through that, I absolutely will. 🙏

@ladywaranon YES! He was immediately administered 100mg hydrocortisone upon arrival. He has Addisons Disease so his condition is fragile, but thankfully he was able to get what he needed in the ER. It's challenging because it's rare and most Drs are not well informed about it.

@KillYourTele High-dose Cortisone is the only thing I know that will fix this. Have a dear friend who just went through this, so I emailed her just now to ask what they did for her. This is what she told me. I pray his doctors will follow this protocol. Insist they try it.

I normally spend my time on here sending Prayers and Hugs to people who need it. I need prayer for my pregnant daughter and my grandchildren! Addisons Disease is a complex medical condition that must be closely monitored as it can quickly become a life threatening medical emergency. Recognizing the early symptoms of this condition is crucial and could very well be life saving.

Treatment for Addisons Disease involves lifelong hormone replacement via drugs like Hydrocortisone or Prednisone.
Mineralocorticoids like fludricortisone are also sometimes necessary.
An emergency injection of high dose steroids is also necessary to manage illnesses and injury.

We made it back home.
He had to have an emergency dose of hydrocortisone and some IV fluids. He wasn't in a full blown crisis but his cortisol was low and had I not taken him in, he likely would have gone into a crisis.
