Happy International Midwives Day 🤍 Behind every safe delivery is a midwife who showed up with calm hands, patience, and strength in moments that matter most. Thank you for the work you do, even when it goes unnoticed.

I've never seen a Nigerian doctor try turning a breech baby for an easier v@ginal delivery, but it's very common abroad. Here, once a baby is breech, it's immediately, "Madam, you'll need a caesarean section(CS)". No attempt to even try other methods first to see if it works. It almost feels like they're too quick to jump to surgery😒🤔

Before the start of surgery and at the end of surgery, the nurse is counting the instruments and other things to be sure they correlate. So, question is, how is a scissors missing and nobody knew?
OREOFE@Oreofe_06

A doctor forgot a scissors in my sister stomach after surgery and we lost her 😭 On the 28th March 2026 my sister okolie ngozi blessing ,went for a fibroid surgery at OAR medical center in ilepo abule egba ( igoke estate) ,which led to the beginning of of my sister dilemma .The operation was said to be successful 3 days after the surgery(on March 31st) my sister was complaining about serious stomach pain ,and her stomach started bloating ,we suggested that the hospital should run a scan to know what is going on but they refused telling us even if we do scan we can’t see anything that will cause for Alarm ,but the severe stomach pain didn’t stop . After the back and forth for 10 days (April 7th) after the surgery they finially referred us to a clinic to do scan, and a nurse from the hospital followed,on getting to the clinic ,we found out they don’t even have a scanning equipment 🤦‍♀️.we decided to take her to another clinic to run a scan ,the nurse that followed was against it but we insisted .The scan result showed that they left An Artery forceps in my sister stomach 😭🤦‍♀️. We got back to the hospital showed them the result they decided on operating her immediately but as at then my sister was already too weak for another operation we begged them to refer us to a better hospital they refused and went ahead with the operation. Two days after the second surgery, she was still weak, her stomach still swollen. We kept on begging them to refer her, but they refused😭. On April 11, around 3 a.m.when their fuel finished while she was on oxygen, and they said they don’t have fuel again. We took her out of OAR Medical Centre and drove her to LASUTH . Six days before we took her out of the hospital Dr Abiodun Ojifinn, was nowhere to be found. Every time we called, he kept saying he would come the next day, but he never showed up. At Lasuth, they asked us to pay for the ICU immediately which we did, and she was admitted. Just one day in the ICU, they told us her heart had stopped. My sister Blessing Okolie could no longer breathe. Cc: Zubby Allstreet

You will barely see MD talk down on dentistry/dentists but nurses will talk down on midwifery/midwives! Shey wọ́n ṣepe fún yin ni?? Come to primary health care centre, midwives are being cherished like gold, you call yourself maternal and child health advocate yet speaking ignorantly on the issue...

@Its_Yhettyqueen No oo…I always deliver the babies directly to the mother’s abdomen and ask her to hold, I will stimulate , cut the cord, suction, all while the baby is on the mother.before proper exams and the rest.It creates bonding and help in flow of breast milk

Bro, what's the essence of this live exactly only for it to end abruptly like that? Students in quest for knowledge and certificates only for them to meet their end on the way. Why do we strive to achieve so much when it could all end suddenly without warning. God abeg🥲.

Dear Management of Ladoke Akintola University ofTechnology @lautechofficial This is not one of those stuffs you play around with using politics. This is an appeal to the varsity management to effect the meaning of the "Distance" aspect of your ODL programs. A good example is the ABU and NOUN ODL. A tertiary institution that wants to stand out in the 21st institution should not tag a program "Distance" ... and still require her students to travel long miles to take exams or whatever. Centres can be established across various regions in the country. The Digital platform should be utilized beyond the 70% mark. 6 Nursing Students enrolled in your program just lost their lives to the mediocre modus operandi of a supposed Tertiary institution. Their demise would always cast a shadow on Lautech. Fix your system...or stop endangering innocent lives 💔.

Five lautech nursing students lost their lives as they were going back to school for their final exams, one was said to be heavily pregnant. This is so sad. I pray may God forgive their shortcomings and may their souls rest in peace. 😥
