I attended a sit down with Gilead discussing HIV prevention and one thing i walked away with having that conversation is understanding resources and education can cripple an entire community. Most of these ppl actually don’t understand Prep or Doxxy and some of their doctors (if they go to them) are doing a poor job at communicating these things.

When I worked with UT health on the HIV prevention team to spread awareness of PrEp/Pep by going to the blk gay bars to offer free medical access even bringing up the word “PrEp” sent them into a defensive frenzy.
Mind you Houston has more HIV infections than the STATE of Texas.

Seeing the young black gays literally re-stigmatize HIV right in front of our faces after all the work our community has put in to end the stigma and make sure less of them had to deal with becoming positive is so sad.
