My next retro rescue / refurb project, kindly donated to me by @Danjones_uk Thank you so much mate! 👍 Gateway 2000 - P5-120 (Pentium 120Mhz) from 1996. An absolute beast, nearly 2ft tall! First it needs an initial quick cleanup, it's grubby!

Used to play this on my 486.. 🤣 Used to run for about 15mins then crash

@Gammitin Nice mate! I still have dell branded window 3.1 sealed. I actually sold the Dell 486 now but held onto those disks. Lucky I have it opened too so dont need to consider opening them

@LJRRetroPC Yes mate, can't bring myself to open them, they'll be a nice display piece, plus I have a tonne of Goteks 😀

What I like most about collecting retro stuff is finding absolute bargains, the last few weeks have been great. I honestly never thought I'd find sealed copies of boxed software like this in the UK, let alone not for a good price and anywhere other than eBay! The hunt continues👍

I really miss @lazygamereviews thrifts videos, the earlier ones really were a step back in time when collecting old curiosities was easier. You can see the slow down in availability of the fun finds as the series goes on.

The newly windowed xp machine takes its place on my new gaming desk alongside the 386sx25 for dos and the Tualatin 1.133 with win 98

I am giving up retro collecting or rather "Hoarding" and just keeping things I will genuinely use or care for. It was great to be able to make some youtube videos and get some positive interactions and be a part of this amazing community around retro hardware.

@Gammitin P4 with a floppy? Those must be fairly rare

I found this random laptop that I've not really done anything with before, thought I'd give it a whirl, it's a: Clevo Iridium D22ES - Pentium 4 generation Celeron (I'd say 2003/4 ish), I slapped in an M.2 to IDE, let's see if I can get NetBSD installed......

@LJRRetroPC I've got loads of UK Garage that's not anywhere online, like 0 torrents or anything. Can't wait to dig through.

6 months ago I lost 2TB of FLAC music, let's just say: 1) I was devastated, some of this was ripped 20+ years ago, from CD's that are not available new now. 2) I'm an idiot for not doing a backup, WELL. Last night I found this curious USB drive, guess what's on it - full backup!

Throwback to my historical Intel powered laptop line up I did a while back: 286 to Core-2-Duo. I need to do another one, as I have quite a few 8086, 8088 powered 'laptops' now.
