Hard disagree, Bitcoin's concept of ownership has always been purely mechanistic, never jurisprudential. The principle is still exactly the same: if you can produce a valid signature, you control the coins. That has always been Bitcoin's rule. Nowhere in the protocol was it ever written that "ownership" depends on how the key was derived - whether from seed words or a quantum computer. Bitcoin does not distinguish between methods of key recovery. It only evaluates whether the spend satisfies the script and consensus rules. So key possession = ownership remains fully intact. What changes in a quantum scenario is not the principle, but the cost and assumptions behind obtaining that key material. Bitcoin has never embedded any notion of legal title, moral entitlement, or the American judicial concept of property rights. It does not ask who should own the coins. It asks only one thing: was a valid witness provided? The debate is not about "restoring" a principle, because that principle was never lost. The debate is whether fear of a future break justifies introducing discretionary exceptions to a system whose entire legitimacy comes from having _no discretionary ownership layer at all_

The real quantum debate won't be about whether the science is real, but about who claims the authority to invoke exceptional measures before consensus exists. What starts as a technical discussion of timelines and migration paths will predictably degrade into a political conflict between those who argue that the possibility of a future break justifies immediate intervention, and those who understand that premature intervention may be more dangerous than the threat itself. So the true fault line isnt quantum versus no quantum, but precaution vs. proof. The first "protective" move will likely be symbolic precisely because symbolism is how legitimacy is manufactured: a proposal to freeze long-dormant exposed coins, Satoshi's holdings, or other untouched early UTXOs - not because they are uniquely urgent, but because they normalize the principle of intervention. Once that, in my view disastrous, precedent exists, the question quietly changes from how do we migrate safely? to who gets to decide whose property rights may be suspended in the name of systemic defense. The quantum era will test Bitcoin less as a cryptographic system and more as a civilizational system of rules revealing whether its social layer can preserve neutrality under pressure or whether existential fear becomes the wedge through which dangerous discretionary governance enters.

The protocol can be upgraded, if needed, to be quantum resistant. If people choose not to make the necessary measures to protect their coins, that’s on them. We shouldn’t make sweeping decisions on behalf of others and parent them. If my private keys are generated with bad entropy and someone else generates the exact same keys, are they “my” keys? That’s essentially what a quantum computer would be doing and already happens.

@LiveFreeBTC Why are so called “bitcoiners” in favor of breaking the basic moral and technical principles of the network? Not your keys not your coins - unless you have a quantum computer, in which case all the coins are yours.

People say you have to sacrifice to homeschool... thats true. You also sacrifice when you send your kids to "public" school. So the question is not "whether you sacrifice." It's "what you sacrifice."

When screenshots of Trump from Truth Social are posted on X, I often have to check to see if they're real or not. Some of the stuff he posts borders on parody. It's generally hysterical though. When I saw this posted on X last night, I scrolled right by. I didn't even consider it could possibly be real. It was simply too ridiculous and I was convinced it had to be fake. It's currently 5 AM and I woke up to my dog barking at something outside. I glanced at my phone and I saw that it was real. I don't know what to say. I know he has said over and over that he doesn't believe he's earned his way into heaven. Stuff like this is a good way in make sure he's correct. This is so insanely disrespectful and I legitimately have no idea why he thought this was a good idea

Stefan always brings the heat 🔥

🚨 I just sat down with a man the mainstream tried to erase.... Stefan Molyneux has been in Bitcoin since the early years and has spent decades breaking down power from first principles and speaking truth to power. Whether you love him or hate him, these 9 facts/stories he shared in the show will change how you see the world forever. 👇 1) THE ABILITY TO PRINT MONEY IS THE ABILITY TO PRINT DEATH. In WWI, countries were broke by late 1914. Central banking allowed them to turn a 3-month conflict into a 4-year catastrophe, raising the death toll from 800k to 22M. 2) OFFENSIVE WARS REQUIRE FIAT. No population would voluntarily sign a $20,000 check and send their kids to die for a war on the other side of the world. Government must steal that value through inflation because they can’t get it through consent. 3) WE ARE LIVING IN A "VAMPIRIC CIVILIZATION." In the U.S., people 65+ receive ~$44,000/year in government funding, while those under 18 receive only ~$4,000. We are literally consuming the future of our children to pay for the present. 4) FIAT CURRENCY IS A PSYCHOSIS. It detaches society from cause and effect. It creates the illusion that you can consume without producing, dissolving the fundamental math that keeps a civilization sane. 5) BITCOIN IS THE "NON-VIOLENT" REVOLUTION. Unlike the French Revolution, which required beheadings to shift power, Bitcoin gently removes the power to create money, and therefore death, from the state and gives it back to the free market. 6) TOTALITARIANISM IS NOW AUTOMATED. In the past, tyranny was limited by the manpower needed to read letters and spy. Today, AI and CBDCs allow for infinite surveillance and punishment without a single human finger being lifted. 7) INFLATION IS THE "HIDDEN" HOME-WRECKER. By diluting the currency, the state forces both parents into the workforce just to survive, effectively breaking the bond between parent and child for the sake of "debt-service." 8) THE IRAN "SEISMIC" SHIFT. Iran is already shifting international settlements to Bitcoin because they’ve been locked out of the legacy banking system (SWIFT). Once people realize it works, the demand for the USD will crater. 9) WE ARE IN A "MODERN DARK AGE." Despite our tech, we haven't seen a new Einstein or Shakespeare in a century. Why? Because art, science, and biology now all go through the soul-crushing lens of political power. He also takes some shots at Neil DeGrasse Tyson among about another dozen hilarious one-liners only Stefan could utter... THE BOTTOM LINE: If money is socialized, socialism is inevitable. Bitcoin is the only exit ramp left that doesn't require a permission slip from the people printing your "death coupons." h/t @StefanMolyneux ☢️ WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW BELOW 👇
