Torture, murder, and women dying by suicide due to sustained abuse — are documented realities. The law treats dowry death as a specific crime under Section 304B IPC when it happens within 7 years of marriage with prior harassment.
Cases where grooms face violence do get heavy media play because they’re rare. One-off cases don’t change the statistical reality that women are overwhelmingly the victims.
