so uh…when I was a senior I submitted a poem for this LGBTQ anthology and forgot about it. years later i got an email saying it’s in a book. today i just got one of the copies. ANYWAY MY HIGH SCHOOL POEM IS IN A BOOK?

We wanted to bring this essay contest to everyone's attention (with $1,000 in prizes)! Another great opportunity to have your voice heard in addition to our annual scholarship.

IMPORTANT: Everyone who submitted to this year's writing scholarship should have just received a notification email informing them of the results. A few emails bounced back, so if you submitted but did not receive an email from us, please email amelia@makeitsafeproject.org!

Scholarship results will be released 9/14. If you do not receive an email from us by 9/14, please reach out!

We are *especially* interested in submissions from LGBTQ+ people of color, low-income LGBTQ+ youth, and currently or formerly incarcerated LGBTQ+ youth. Spread the word!
