I was 25 when I bought my 1st house. I was single at the time and it was more important to have a house than a new car. I always said I wasn't going to pull up to an apartment in a new car. But that's just me.

401ks are not a scam
I’m 42
Financially free
I maxed my 401k every year
Used the Roth 401k for tax free distributions
Took the full employer match
That account is now over $1M
If I don’t add another dollar
At average market returns
It should be $5M+ by 59.5
That’s the part people miss
My taxable account, dividends, and options income let me live now and continue to grow.
My 401k is my long term safety net
I’m retiring in my 40s with 0 worries
And my 401k is a huge reason why
