Where you start is not where you end up. You might have to write some articles at $0.02-$0.05 per word when you are starting out. That only adds up to $20-$50 for a 1,000 word article. However, as you gain experience and continue tp prospect, you might command $0.50+ per word. Now that same 1,000 word article nets $500, but it takes time (most likely years).

However, you need a burning reason(s) to become successful to the point where you don't want to spend anytime entertaining the alternative.

Posting every day on social media for 1 year can change your career and business. 7. Grow your client base. This one sounds obvious, but it's worth mentioning. Just as freelance writers move around in the industry, so do editors and content managers. If your content manager works for a different publication in the same industry, they may bring you along.

6. Grow your network. Hosting a podcast is one of my favorite ways to grow your network since you can have many conversations with incredible people. Commenting on social media posts can also get you noticed, especially if you leave comments on a potential client's content.
