The quickest way to establish yourself as an overnight authority in any industry is to host a virtual summit. Here's how it works: 1. Determine the industry you want to be known for 2. Reach out to enough experts until you can secure 10+ interviews for your summit 3. Every speaker promotes the summit, and attendees must opt-in with their email to get access 4. Lifetime Passes available for a price -- now you have a product 5. Host the summit, become known as the expert who interviewed other experts, and build your brand

Where you start is not where you end up. You might have to write some articles at $0.02-$0.05 per word when you are starting out. That only adds up to $20-$50 for a 1,000 word article. However, as you gain experience and continue tp prospect, you might command $0.50+ per word. Now that same 1,000 word article nets $500, but it takes time (most likely years).

Getting expert quotes for your articles is one of the few ways to stand out in the age of AI. People can use AI to fetch 5 social media marketing tips instead of reading an article about 5 social media marketing tips. Combining expert commentary, quotes from individuals, and key points from research can give your content extra life that AI can't replicate.

The most successful freelance writers are the best marketers. Writing great content will always matter, but AI has resulted in a lot more volatility. No matter how busy you are, you should send a few pitches each day. That way, you have a pipeline of prospects ready to go in the event your top client suddenly leaves. And your top client can happen without any warning. That's why you must always prospect.

The first paragraph is the hardest one to write for any article. Once you write that first paragraph, it gradually starts to flow.

Writing a book sounds impossible until you look at the numbers. A 100-page book is about 30,000 words. If you write 1,000 words per day, you finish writing your book by the end of the month. If you want a 200-page book, then writing 1,000 words per day gets the job done in 60 days. Not everyone has time to write 1,000 words per day. However, even if you write 500 words per day, you can get a book done within a few months. Just make sure you write an outline for your book before you start writing. Most people think it's impossible because they don't create an outline first.

Want to become a better storyteller? Document at least one thing that happens to you every day. Simply write down one thing that happened and how you felt. It can be as simple as recalling something that happened on a recent walk or a conversation you had with someone. Some days will be more fascinating than others, but documenting what happens to you makes it easier to remember good storytelling points.

Posting on social media is like going to the gym. If you want to grow a personal brand, you can't expect much if you only post once per month. The elite athletes train every day. Some of them train multiple times per day, and they do that for years. Anyone can be a social media rockstar for one week, but if you want meaningful long-term results, you have to post every day for years.

If you want to be successful, you need a strong reason. It's much easier to stay where you are. It's more comfortable and requires less work. There are no shortcuts to success. Most people know this. However, you need a burning reason(s) to become successful to the point where you don't want to spend anytime entertaining the alternative.

Posting every day on social media for 1 year can change your career and business. If you stick with the same niche for those social media posts, you can become an established leader in your industry. @humphreytalks1 used this strategy on TikTok and went from 0 to 1 million followers in less than one year after posting every day without fail for 260 consecutive days.

7. Grow your client base. This one sounds obvious, but it's worth mentioning. Just as freelance writers move around in the industry, so do editors and content managers. If your content manager works for a different publication in the same industry, they may bring you along.

6. Grow your network. Hosting a podcast is one of my favorite ways to grow your network since you can have many conversations with incredible people. Commenting on social media posts can also get you noticed, especially if you leave comments on a potential client's content.
