I’m so excited about #teacherappreciationweek. I definitely think teachers deserve appreciation EVERY day. But this week is special because we get to shine a light on just how important teachers are and how significant the impact of their work is. Teachers of ELs, I especially want to recognize YOUR work. As an EL myself, as a child of parents who didn’t speak English when I was in elementary school, and as a former teacher, I want you to know that the work you do every day makes a difference. Students like me need you. Parents like mine need you. Your colleagues need you!
