Maximilian was a good man. He was an excellent administrator and a tireless civil servant when he served as head of the Austrian Navy. He personally oversaw the creation of the fleet that would win the Battle of Lissa in 1866 (the same battle that’s depicted on my profile banner). Most states throughout history would have been blessed to have a man like him serving as their Emperor, King, President, Prime Minister, or in any other position of authority. But his biggest flaw was that he was far too liberal for the Mexican conservatives, and far too conservative for the Mexican liberals. He tried to straddle both, both abandoned him for different reasons, and it ultimately cost him his life. Many people and even entire political parties throughout history have fallen victim to similar circumstances.

This kid so poorly formatted this it's hard to tell, but Bird features on pages 13-15. Still, very funny and it's absolutely comical to see the lengths this kid will go to, the stories he'll invent, and the hoops he'll jump through in the search for attention and clout. 🤣

And that's not even taking into account the fact that Newsom is spending California into oblivion. In 2019, California's state budget was $214.8 billion. State spending per capita was about $5436.29/person. Today, the state budget is $321.1 billion. That's a massive 50% increase in state spending despite the fact that California has actually LOST population since 2019. State spending per capita is now about $8,129.11/person. So Newsom wants to take credit for an economic growth record on par with Japan after their economy imploded in the 90s, all while he's jacked up state spending by 50% in less than 10 years? Are you people out of your minds???

While driving in PA, I have been cut off by old people forcing me to slam on my brakes (they don’t react whatsoever when you honk at them), and they then proceed to do 35 in a 55. I am 100% serious when I say that people who do that should have their license permanently revoked without any opportunity to ever get it back.

Watching people flip from "Trump is a war criminal for threatening to bomb Iranian infrastructure" to "Trump is a coward who always backs down" in a matter of just a few hours is a reminder that some people are just subversive counter-signalers who do things to get attention online. If Trump had "followed through," you people would be pissing your pants right now, calling him a genocidal monster, and demanding that the 25th Amendment be invoked. You can only get away with concern trolling for so long until people stop caring about what you have to say.
