One of the most striking controversies surrounding Fabrizio Romano was the Mason Greenwood process. Greenwood had been suspended by Manchester United following allegations of attempted rape and assault. During the period the player was under investigation, Romano’s complete failure to mention the legal and ethical dimensions of the case in his news, focusing instead on the “player’s talent,” his “desire for a fresh start,” and “interest from clubs,” was seen as a form of “reputation laundering.” During Greenwood's loan to Getafe, Romano constantly quoted the Spanish club's tweets and shared them with great enthusiasm. There were numerous reports suggesting that Romano had made deals with both Greenwood’s and Getafe’s PR teams. During Greenwood's transfer to Marseille in the summer of 2024, there were serious protests from the mayor and local residents. Instead of reporting on these protests, Romano emphasized the financial details of the transfer and the “Here We Go” stage. He is a profile capable of conducting any kind of PR work in exchange for money.

According to a report by Denmark-based Tipsbladet, the operational system of the transfer world’s most famous name, Fabrizio Romano, is under scrutiny. The report states that the Memmo agency, which Romano is affiliated with, markets 'paid promotion and engagement' packages to clubs. FC Copenhagen: Communications Manager Jes Mortensen officially confirmed that they received an offer from Romano’s team in exchange for 'appearing in transfer videos and increasing engagement'; however, the club rejected the offer. Vålerenga: Former marketing manager Mehran Amundsen-Ansari exposed the system’s price list: approximately €1,100 is requested for a single post, and around €6,000 for a specialized video where Romano personally delivers the message requested by the club. Although Romano has declined interview requests regarding the matter, he maintains that these commercial partnerships do not affect his news content.

Hillsborough Law needs your support. The current exemption for security services will allow them to continue to lie about their failures just like they did in the Manchester Arena Inquiry.

The families are not asking for the full truth, they understand the need for secrecy around matters of national security, they just don’t want to be lied to. Please vote against the Government amendment and support the amendment put forward by Ian Byrne instead. Support Truth.

Charlotte Hennessy’s father was unconscious but still alive when police officers put him in a body bag during the Hillsborough disaster. Later, two other officers unzipped the bag and found he was hot and had vomited – then zipped it up again and didn’t tell anyone. Neither of them had to give evidence at the inquest. I didn’t think I had any remaining capacity to be shocked by anything that could be said in defence of South Yorkshire Police’s handling of Hillsborough and the aftermath. I stand corrected. The complaint of ‘trial by media’ is particularly astonishing.
