Taking a moment to be grateful for faith, hope and love this Good Friday. This Easter. As I do every year. You may not know this but religion saved me. Literally. I may have gone through a very dark patch after coming out and the church is where I found my solace. I'm a Gay Christian… I know, right!?! How bizarre that I would say something so absurd when many people who go to church choose to openly hate me, and my kind. But here's the thing... I am only alive today because I found faith, not in the people who say they follow the book but in the book itself. I don't shout it out from the rooftops, I don't go to church every Sunday and I don't try to force what I believe on anyone else. But today I will shout a little louder. Today I'm thankful that I found faith and with it came hope and love. And that saved me. You can cite many passages from the Bible to support many different arguments but the one thing you cannot deny is that the entire book is written about love. Love for your neighbours. Love for people who are different to you. Love in all its forms. Love occurs more times than anything else in the book... 310 in 280 verses, to be exact, and perhaps it's a reminder that our purpose is to just love one another. And I think the world could use a whole lot more love right now. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. Love never fails. Love always wins. It's all about love friends. That is it. Happy Easter to you all. Wishing you lots and lots of love... and only good things (and maybe some chocolate in between). Okay. Love you. Bye.

@BrentLindeque I won't assume anything Brent; DSTV has shown themselves to be exceptionally greedy when it comes to giving customers anything extra. I don't know if that culture will change with Canal+ now being in charge🤷‍♀️. Just my humble opinion🤗

So Showmax is shutting down on the 30th of April. But I am guessing (total assumption) that most of the content will be migrated to the DStv App... and then (sometime in the future), DStv will change to Canal+ and all of that content (plus new content) will be available on South Africa's version of a Canal+ App. Some Canal+ packages (globally) bundle other streaming platforms (like Apple TV+, Netflix, Paramount+ and HBO Max)... so depending on licences, we may get the same. This is all an assumption. But that makes sense, right?

According to the report, she was struck more than ten times with an iron pipe, nearly lost consciousness, and then turned onto her back and kicked repeatedly in an apparent attempt to survive. Despite her injuries, she managed to make it back to the house and alert her husband. Her husband immediately raised the alarm and farmers from the surrounding area reportedly responded quickly to assist. The farm owner also helped to get her to hospital in Klerksdorp. The victim is now recovering physically, but the trauma remains severe, especially because the attacker is still not in custody. What is equally troubling is the family’s account of the police response. They say police and the dog unit were on the scene on Tuesday evening, but left when it started raining. They further allege that, despite repeated enquiries, the victim’s statement had still not been properly taken and there had been little to no meaningful communication afterwards. The family says they have been left with silence while vital time and possible evidence were lost. Police have confirmed that a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm was opened and that the victim’s statement still had to be obtained. The report also notes that police initially issued incorrect details about both the date of the attack and the victim’s age before later correcting it. No suspect has yet been arrested. This case raises two serious issues. First, the brutal reality of violent attacks in rural areas. Second, the continued failure of policing follow-up, victim communication and basic investigative urgency. Ghaaz, I'm writing a school assignment from a hospital bed. It's due tomorrow (already an extension), I only remembered today that I wasn't finished. I don't have my laptop to finish the work I had started. Leandro was at school in the morning, so I couldn't get Uber Parcel to bring my laptop. Thankfully, when Leandro packed my hospital bag yesterday, he included my tablet. So I started over. I know I'll finish before tomorrow's deadline because I have nothing else to do in this hospital. But wow 😭. The anxiety.
