@For_Film_Fans It's great because it totally nails the vibe. 1950's sci-fi was usually very camp or very unrealistic. This one was serious and realistic which is why it's a damn classic up there with Forbidden Planet and Metropolis.

Not only is this one of the great sci-fi Films of the 50’s, I think it’s it’s one of the great sci-fi Movies of all time AND one of the most terrifying. It’s quite brilliant. THE THING (1951)

@memeslich It feels like nobody knows how to play them. It's always, oh I get all these cool things and NO DRAWBACKS! Nay! Playing one should be hard. Churches turning them away, prejudice, superstitions, mages trying to get their horns for spell components. TRAUMA.

PowerWash Simulator 2 is getting a Star Wars Pack DLC this summer You will clean dirty X-wing fighters inside hangars, crashed vehicles buried in snowy landscapes, and weathered desert structures also with views from space stations. @mouseycometz Only notes going in. 1) it went from UHF for Beast Wars to Network tv, which meant no ballistic weaponry. Everything is lasers now. But hey, bigger budget! 2) expect the unexpected.

@DirtbaggeryBR The real trippy thing is a lot of the SW audiobooks were done by Anthony Daniels, who does all the voices which is very surreal. You haven't lived till you hear C3PO pretending to be Han Solo.

Heir to the Empire is just fun. I’m loving this. It’s a rare example of how me not having read a wider range of books as a kid is actually working for me now. Because in this modern era of Disney Star Wars slop, I get to read the Thrawn trilogy for the first time, and damn it if it doesn’t feel good to consume actual Star Wars.

@TheCinesthetic Watch the commentary track. The cast put so much work into their characters, their personality quirks, and the running jokes that it's amazing.

Mystery Men (1999) deserves so much better than its reputation, a fully realized world where every misfit hero actually matters and somehow still ending up one of the most criminally underrated superhero comedies ever made.

@ticketytac Step 1... watch the original cartoon. Everything after is trying to recreate or build on that... and can be watched in any order. Step 2... stop worrying. Everyone hates the current show till it's replacement comes out for their hate to transfer.

@toys_retro Metal underwear? It chafes. Great show with a great toy line and all the momentum. Loved the hologram gimmicks. Shame we never got the playset, it looked pimp.

@FinalGuyKris Loved it. It's not supposed to be a good story, or even a good movie. It's an excuse for a lot of A list actors to pay homage to Troma and Toxie. Enjoy it for what it is.

What do you think of Fallout 4’s Automatron DLC? I love the robot mods it added to the game but wish the story was bigger

@RealEmirHan Bond went from a fallible but determined spy to someone who ignores all danger and never gets hurt. As good as films like Goldeneye are, it never feels like he's in danger and that ruins things. Just look at View to a Kill, Moore's Bond is constantly in fear of getting killed.

started Stargate SG-1 finally. its pretty good. but the worst ep ive seen so far is "Emancipation" where the descendants of Mongols are misogynistic & kidnap a white woman. plot sounded familiar so i looked up the writer. Katharyn Powers, who also wrote "Code of Honor" (TNG)
