I decided early on that I was going to build this brand in public. And I’ve hit a crossroads. One of the core principles of this company is making things in America. Cotton shirts that fit and feel how I want? That was a problem we could solve here. Alligator belts at an approachable price and real quality? Solved here. Natural fiber twill shorts that actually fit right and are priced right? Solved here. Old school construction footwear for the course? We think we can solve that here too. Sweaters are a different animal. We can absolutely make cotton cable knits in the USA. And we will. But I love cashmere. We’ve found a small family mill in Italy that truly knows what they’re doing. We could import yarn and knit here, but by the time you’re done, costs skyrocket, quality likely goes down. and it defeats the mission of solving the problem, making the highest quality product accessible. If they knit and construct it there, I could offer what is essentially a $650 sweater for under $200. So the question becomes: is a small, specialty Made in Italy line antithetical to what we stand for? Or is delivering exceptional value in price and quality also part of the mission? We aren’t talking mass offshore production. We’re talking family mills, real craft. This isn’t cutting corners. It’s a philosophical tension. I don’t you can buy quality cashmere that’s constructed in the USA. These are the kinds of decisions that get complicated when you actually stand for something. You have to ask yourself what matters most. Part of building in public is crowdsourcing feedback and staying accountable. Letting customers help shape the direction. I don’t have the answer today. I’d genuinely like your thoughts.

No beautiful woman has ever found you attractive in a plastic micro print shirt. It’s scientifically not possible. Evolution is a crazy thing. Wear cotton, shoot low scores, reproduce beauties. Let Big Poly fight for the scraps. There can only be so many Kings.

The Huntsman Center has never been so full. Amazing how their own team can’t motivate them to attend, but BYU can. It’s almost like they hate BYU more than they love Utah. Anyone surprised? 🤭

I feel like wherever I go somebody brings up Old Barnwell to me. They ask me: Have you played it? What did you think? So I’ll ask everyone here: what did you think?

@adplacksports Ohoopee is extremely overrated. The allure is the logo and the exclusivity. The golf is good, not great. Old Barnwell, The Tree Farm, and Childress Hall are better golf. Fall Line allegedly blows Ohoopee out of the water

Everything I’m reading, seeing and hearing about this place is just massive green flags everywhere. So many things done the right way. Just word of mouth conjecture here, but would not be surprised if Fall Line debuts in the top 100 and within a couple years is thought of as superior to Oohoopee (as a golf course) and many other destination clubs. I’m not saying that this is OCM’s Sand Hills but I’m not not saying it!

At long last, I can share with you guys the I incredible Fall Line Club and its dazzling 48 holes of golf. I’ve been waiting to share these photos with you guys for almost 9 months, and it’s been tough, because the place is simply amazing. Fall Line is a huge 1,500 acre parcel secreted away in the Georgia sandhills, 2 hours south of Atlanta and an hour east of Columbus. Working on their first new course project in the U.S., Geoff Ogilvy, Mike Cocking and Ashley Mead of OCM Golf wanted to put those acres to good use - they hit a home run. The East Course (upper right)was designed as an homage to the heathland classics around England, and the absolutely nailed the look, the feel and the fun that make those courses so beloved. The West Course (lower left) was modeled on the Aussie sandbelt like Royal Melbourne. Perhaps it’s no surprise, since OCM was founded in Melbs, but I was absolutely shocked at how good this course was, and how much it reminded me of RMBC. It was absolutely uncanny. Just in case these two, which you will certainly see popping up on every top 100 list out there in the near future, weren’t enough, Fall Line also throws in a wild and stupendously fun 12 hole short course (bottom right). If you haven’t gotten the gist yet, I was truly blown away by this place. Even in this era, when it seems like a terrific new golf course opens every other week, Fall Line is a notable standout. When the talent of the architects is unlimited, the commitment of the developer is unbridled, the imagination of the creators is unhindered, and the passion of all involved is unbounded, and cost is apparently unimportant, a place like Fall Line is can be the result. More to come.
