@MissMarkillie @SaraCivian I make a point of taking pictures of my SIL and her kids whenever I can. She takes such great photos of my brother and the kids and then all the ones of her and the kids are selfies.

I was taking some photos of my kids being cute in the library, when this Polish grandmother came up to me and said, "You sit. Give me phone. There are never photos of Mama," before proceeding to take a bunch of photos of me sitting and reading with them. I'm not crying; you are.

Question: What communities in the mountains have you NOT heard much about yet? Know some of the smaller/more isolated spots may not have internet/cell coverage, or be reachable.

@deftlyinane I grew up in Brevard and from what I’ve heard from family and friends still there, there’s lots of damage but it was spared the catastrophic flash floods. A lot of the roads are still closed though, and cell service and internet are only just now returning.

I haven’t seen much info out of Brevard, but realize that could 100% be my filter bubble

More long, and longer, gas lines today in the areas landlocked around Brevard. Still no service and gas stations are cash only. Not seeing any grocery stores open yet. Pretty much a shelter-in-place scenario for almost 2 days now. People seem frustrated and kept to themselves except for those actively assisting with damage. #ncwx #brevard #helene

The few places open tonight in the communities south of Asheville near Brevard NC are keeping the community moving forward tonight. However long lines at the couple of gas stations (cash only) and a number of people clumped on hills for weak cell service. Grocery stores are closed. The Waffle House and McDonald’s around Brevard are open. Might take quite a while for this area to get back to normal. #ncwx #helene #northcarolina
