@Cassielforson If you really want to protect the cedi we need ban the forex operators all, foreign currencies must be changed at entry point.
English

The Cedi is the only currency we have.
Let us protect it.
Let us trade with it.
Let us defend it.
Let us talk about it with pride, not as a burden, but as a badge of economic independence.
As we celebrate sixty years of the Cedi, let us rededicate ourselves to the call to help build the Ghana We Want.

@wode_maya The one that spark the conversation was not natural hair but rather permed hair.

Did you know that during the colonial era, students in Ghanaian schools weren’t even allowed to wear shoes? The rule about cutting girls’ hair in secondary school also started during that time. It wasn’t just about ‘discipline’ — it was a colonial practice meant to make it easier to tell the difference between a mulatto (mixed-race) child and a Ghanaian girl. Many of these so-called “school traditions” we still follow today are actually leftovers from colonial control. They were never about neatness or respect — they were about enforcing hierarchy and erasing identity. The rule that girls must cut their hair started with colonial missionaries and officials who saw African hairstyles as “untidy” and wanted to impose European standards of obedience. It also served a racial purpose — short hair made it easier to tell who was mixed-race and who was African. What began as colonial control was later accepted as normal, even after independence.
If we claim to be an independent nation, then it’s time to act like one. 🇬🇭✊🏾

English
