Hmmm. Is Ade’s success attributed to the Asian community or the white community? Are they implying that Black people don’t shop at Black-owned grocery stores? Sainsbury’s, Aldi, and Lidl have chains across the UK—can anyone name a Black-owned supermarket on that scale? These kinds of disingenuous takes frustrate me because, if we look at consumer behaviour honestly, the same Black people who shop at Sainsbury’s, Aldi, and Lidl also support their local African grocery stores. Let’s stop with the lies and goalpost shifting. The backlash was never about shopping habits—it was about being misled into thinking it was Black-owned when it isn’t.

It was an honour to have been invited to attend the inaugural external Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP Black Women In Law Network’s event yesterday evening! I had a great time hearing from the panel as well as watching the delightful @MsCarter_13 in action once again! 🫶🏾

I just wanna put it out there that 21 was detained by ICE like 4 years ago… this is a person with money, a legal team and his first language is English so there’s no language barrier… If it took him 3+ years to gain citizenship, imagine what this looks like for others…

…and them not having sufficient backup cards so we had to wait to transfer episodes in recording time we paid for, means I have to warn people against accepting that discounted offer. It was audaciously implied that our acceptance of it meant that the quality of service..

If you know me, you know I don’t drag for dragging sake, but the experience we had with The Common Sense studio was a shambles. And the audacity of the owner in the light of deleted footage for episodes (plural! by HIM), having to re-record because the camera wasn’t turned on…
