Celebrations in the Israeli Knesset following the approval of the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners. Extremist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was seen inside the Knesset celebrating with champagne, opening a bottle and toasting “victory” to mark the passage of the law.

Israel has now become the first state to codify a death sentence that applies in practice to one ethnic group, while another is effectively shielded from it.

Remember, these are colonists None of them belong in Palestine They are celebrating the execution of the indigenous inhabitants who have every right to resist their God forsaken presence They can enjoy this for now But the reckoning will surely come And when it does, the entire world will be celebrating

WHEN IS EID AL FITR 1447 / 2026 IN THE UK? PREDICTED DATES MOSQUES WHICH FOLLOW SAUDI: Friday 20 March MOSQUES WHICH FOLLOW MOROCCO: Saturday 21 March LOCAL UK SIGHTING: Saturday 21 March (with a very small chance for Friday 20 March if the UK sees a “record-breaking” moon) Explanations below. * FOLLOW SAUDI - FRIDAY 20 MARCH UK mosques following Saudi will do Eid on Friday. Saudi started Ramadan a day too early, and will look for the moon a day too early on Wednesday 18 March. The moon will be before conjunction, thus Saudi will declare “not seen”, and complete 30 days of Shaban. FOLLOW MOROCCO - SATURDAY 21 MARCH Morocco will look for the moon on Thursday 19 March. The moon will be very, very hard to see (Yallop Code: C - see diagram). We expect no crescent sightings, and so they complete 30 days for Ramadan and Eid on Saturday 21 March. For context: Morocco has never seen such a thin moon in decades of sighting records. They accept naked eye sightings only. LOCAL UK SUNNAH SIGHTING - SATURDAY 21 MARCH (though Friday is possible). Our UK moonsighters will search for the moon on Thursday 19 March. We are in a similar position to Moroocco with a moon which is extremely difficult to see (Yallop Code: C - see diagram). Therefore we expect Eid to be on Saturday 21 March However, there is a thin chance we could see the moon if we have perfect weather conditions - and if we do, Eid would be on Friday. Seeing such a moon would break a record for us - and we will try our best! Anything can happen…Exciting! And Allah knows best.

NEW CRESCENT SOCIETY – MOON NOT SEEN. RAMADAN HAS 30 DAYS 1 SHAWWAL = SATURDAY 21 MARCH EID IS ON SATURDAY (LOCAL SIGHTING) We had moonsighters around the country – Cardiff, Exeter, Bristol, Southampton, London, Oxford, Birmingham, Leicester, Derby, Bolton, Preston, Liverpool, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Jersey Islands and many more! Thank you to all of you who were looking for the moon – we had great gatherings and an incredible feeling of reviving the sunnah. However as the moon was not seen in the UK by the eyes, those who follow local sighting will do Eid on Saturday. More news to come about Eid prayers on Saturday – as they will need to be organised by us! Whenever you are celebrating EID MUBARAK!

AFGHANISTAN SEE THE MOON?!? According to astronomical data, the moon was below the horizon and before conjunction at the reported time of sighting in Afghanistan. In other words, the moon had not yet been born and was not above the horizon, meaning it would have been astronomically impossible to observe. This is not the first time that such reports have emerged from Afghanistan. For example, in 2022 there was also a reported sighting prior to a lunar eclipse, which raised similar questions among astronomers and moonsighting experts. QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO SUPPORT GLOBAL SIGHTING IN THE UK Some supporters of a "global moonsighting" approach argue that if Muslims in another country report seeing the moon, their testimony should be accepted without scientific scrutiny. In light of the current report, it raises an interesting question: Would those who advocate global moonsighting accept a report such as this one from Afghanistan? Or are such principles applied selectively, to only follow Saudi? These situations highlight why many communities emphasise the importance of careful verification and strong local observation systems, as is the sunnah. In any case, we look forward to focusing on our own local sightings tomorrow, and we ask Allah for clarity and unity.
