LOFTID located in the Pacific Ocean 500 miles off the coast of Hawaii. Congratulations! Upon reentry, LOFTID faced temperatures that reached 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit and hit speeds of nearly 18,000 miles per hour.

Artemis on hold. The engine will be fixed, and Artemis will fly. Churchill said: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” Indeed, it is courage that defines NASA and its dedication to exploration and discovery.

Artemis 1 FYI: A full-size dummy in an orange flight suit is going to occupy the commander’s seat for this flight, rigged with vibration and acceleration sensors. Two other mannequins made of material simulating human tissue will measure cosmic radiation.

Our latest program is live! Look for it on iTunes and Hulu shortly. NASA’s ATD-2 or Airspace Technology Demonstration 2 project helps isolate the best times for departing flights to push back from the gate saving time and money. nasa.gov/nasax youtube.com/nasaxrocks

We've spent the year traveling and telling the stories that make NASA great. From early morning desert sunrises to airplane hangars, flying in simulators, to standing on the wings of X-planes we love the experience of producing our program. Have a wonderful new year!
