Claire Lai was met with a standing ovation as she spoke about her father, Jimmy Lai, at the 2026 National Catholic Prayer Breakfast. Claire Lai shared that her father remains steadfast in his faith despite being imprisoned under Hong Kong’s national security law. Arrested in 2020 and now sentenced to 20 years in prison at age 78, he endures solitary confinement and declining health but continues to unite his suffering with Christ’s. Claire expressed gratitude for the support their family has received in the U.S., hoping that with God’s help and American advocacy, her father will be freed. She closed by recalling her father’s belief that “suffering is also grace,” leading us to the foot of the Cross.

Jonathan Roumie announced at the 2026 National Catholic Prayer Breakfast that The Chosen's Season 6 will stream on Prime Video in the fall of 2026. The culmination of Season 6—the story leading to the Crucifixion—will be released in theaters nationwide as a full-length feature film in the spring of 2027. "Our hope is that this won’t be something people simply watch, but an experience that draws them deeply into the mystery of Christ’s love, the mystery of His Cross, and the reality of His mercy," he said.
