The climate is changing. Asia must adapt. On communities’ needs and the urgent adaptation gap.

With countries across the Hindu Kush Himalaya still reeling from a second consecutive year of extreme floods from heavy monsoon, it’s urgent adaptation keeps pace with rapidly accelerating threats. Next Tuesday, hear from leading experts and practitioners from across Asia on local communities’ adaptation roles and needs, and how adaptation efforts can be scaled up and directed to communities that are most at risk.

About the event:
Despite progress in national climate plans, climate impacts continue to mount – with Asia’s exposure to extreme rain and flood risk growing by 2030. Register now to join this urgent and timely session on resilience and adaptation on the continent. This is the first of two hybrid workshops organized by Asian research and capacity strengthening partners in CLARE – the UK-Canada framework research programme on Climate Adaptation and Resilience.

CLARE is a flagship research programme on CLimate Adaptation and REsilience, 90% funded by UK Aid through the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (@FCDOGovUK), and co-funded by the International Development Research Centre @IDRC_CRDI), Canada. CLARE bridges critical gaps between science and action by championing Southern leadership to enable socially inclusive and sustainable action to build resilience to climate change and natural hazards.
