The trouble is they have made progress to MoU by doing the inevitable — fudging and watering down the nuke commitments. So if POTUS wants stronger nuke commitments, he may find himself without an MoU deal. Catch-22.

Think it's fair to assume that much of the delay is linked to the politics around near-term sanctions relief. The MOU will be just that, a memo. Even if Iran agrees to a provision that commits it to hand over the highly-enriched uranium within a certain timeframe, that provision is kind of worthless until they negotiate the details in follow-on talks. Whereas any up-front sanctions relief, particularly the release of frozen assets, is an immediate, tangible American concession. If Trump wants stronger language around the nuclear program—again, bearing in mind that said language is just words on paper—then this seems mostly about the optics of what he's getting in return for the first tranche of sanctions relief. axios.com/2026/05/31/tru…

CEOs are quietly realizing the AI replacement plan has a problem. Two problems, actually. One: the token costs for running AI agents are now exceeding what they were paying the employees they fired. Two: when the tokens run out, the AI stops. Just stops. No continuity. No workaround. Just a spinning wheel where your workforce used to be. You fired humans to save money and bought a subscription that bills you into a corner. The employees you let go knew what to do when things broke. The AI just invoices you for the outage. And then there’s the permission problem nobody wants to talk about. To do its job, the AI agent needs access. Full access. Your systems, your patents, your contracts, your future plans. Everything you spent years building, handed over to a process that has no loyalty, no discretion, and no skin in the game. You didn’t hire a replacement. You gave a stranger with no soul the keys to everything you own. Enjoy.

no regime change in iran, no handpicking of the next supreme leader. no dismantling of iran’s proxies, no restrictions on its ballistic missile and drone programs. an agreement to downblend the highly enriched uranium inside iran. the destruction of iran’s navy, but an emboldened iran that is prepared to disrupt the strait. throw in the cost in lives, the global economy, and the global treasure, and the reputational damage to the united states…and president trump has some serious explaining to do.   next up: cuba

Iran is demanding the release of $24 billion in blocked funds during negotiations with the United States under a proposed 14-point memorandum of understanding, with Tehran insisting that half the amount be made available when the agreement is announced and the remainder transferred within 60 days, a source close to the negotiation team told Tasnim news agency. The source said parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf’s trip to Qatar was aimed at securing an understanding on how Iran would access an initial $12 billion tranche and remove obstacles to the transfer, while avoiding problems encountered in previous agreements involving Iranian funds in South Korea and Qatar. The talks in Doha were “overall good” and led to progress in broader negotiations with Washington, the source told Tasnim, while cautioning that Iran still viewed the United States as an “untrustworthy party.”
