All mothers are precious. On Mother's Day we remember all the mothers & children separated by #familycourt, abusive fathers ,social services, & by war and genocide. Children need their mothers, mothers need their children, everywhere in the world.

A Labour MP has waived her anonymity to reveal she was raped after an event that she attended as a member of parliament. Charlotte Nichols, Labour MP for Warrington North, said she waited almost three years for a trial as she spoke out agains plans to curb access to jury trials.

YES to abolition of presumption of contact & bans on women’s sexual history raised in rape cases BUT NO to abolishing jury trials! Abolishing juries WON'T mean rape cases get to court more quickly. Criminal Bar Association says it might bring a case forward by about a week.

We must also stop forced adoptions - they are not historic they’re going on right now. 90% of adoptions are without parental consent! A growing movement of adult adoptees, together with birth families, is exposing the lifelong trauma they’ve suffered.

This is really great news, long overdue and a victory @clairethrossell nevertheless! Together @againstrape & others we'll be monitoring the Bill's progress to make sure presumption of contact is abolished once and for all.

Today the repeal of the statutory presumption of parental involvement has been introduced to the House of Commons- Clause 17 of the Courts and Tribunals Bill. “Jack and Paul’s Law” is a tribute to Claire Throssell MBE for her tireless campaigning to ensure that no mother and children suffer the worst fate imaginable at the hands of a violent parent. Now it needs to be cast in stone in the statute books. We will not stop campaigning until it’s in the Courts and Tribunals Act. Thank you @MarieTidball @AlexDaviesJones and all MPs and Ministers involved for ensuring that this is happening
