@NotSoLittleC Oh I totally agree, family should be cut off if they provide nothing but toxicity to you personally, and make no effort to change. My point was just referring to people cutting family off for having a different political opinion, a lot of what is told is misinformed.

in light of recent events, for anyone who has parents or family who have fallen down the right wing hole. from my own experience its actually pretty easy to just cut those people out your life forever and never speak to them again. you dont have to keep them 🤷‍♂️

@SeducedPigeon Yeah I didn't even cut my parents off for their politics too. I ended that just because of who they are as people. Its still just such a social pressure to maintain family relationships that are toxic and I wanted to illustrate that you don't need them

@NotSoLittleC I do, yeah. I mean I could say the same thing, if you have people around you to see on the regular, it's not so bad. I did cut family off once - not because of politics, but other stuff. For some, despite having friends, that sense of true connection is still missing.

@NotSoLittleC I actually think it's quite sad to see. In a world already so divided, politics and propaganda are pulling people away from what little human connection they have remaining. The world is going to become very lonely in due time.
