Good things are coming 🎉

Igbo women 🌹 Uli is an ancient art form traditionally practiced by Igbo women. Uli patterns were used to communicate messages and to decorate walls, fabrics, the body, ceramics, wood carvings, and many other surfaces. As an Igbo artist, I truly wish to see more women embracing and preserving this beautiful artistic heritage. That desire inspired @ArtsZzadora and me, @nneamaka_orji , to form Umunwanyi Uli - a collective where we practice, create, and exhibit artworks deeply inspired by the philosophy and visual language of Uli. Last year, we premiered our first exhibition at @KachiGallery in Enugu, we will return again this year. Our hope is to continue creating awareness, inspiring other artists, and keeping this remarkable tradition alive. A small seed we will keep watering. 🌱

AKWU AGHALI 🏔

Afa teaches ways to dispel, minimize, or altogether avoid the effects of negative influences, whether one calls them witchcraft, hexes, destiny stallers, or spiritual interference. Through concepts such as 'Ofu Ose' and its reversed form 'Ose Ofu', Afa corpus emphasizes that one of the primary ways harmful influences gain access to a person is through what they consume. In Igbo esoteric understanding, “what you eat” goes far beyond physical food. It includes what you feed your mind, nervous system, emotions, senses, lungs, palms, and spirit with on a daily basis. Every form of consumption shapes your energetic condition. This is why paying attention to what you allow into yourself is one of the strongest forms of spiritual fortification. Always remember, YOU ARE DIVINE, and nothing can truly take power away from you without your participation.

Life is a journey. When you know better, you do better. Until then, do not be so hard on yourself that it leads you into despair over the things you do not yet understand about your life or the world around you. The best thing you can do is continue improving yourself. The more you grow and commit to self-development, the more you begin to align with and appreciate yourself first. So while trying to make sense of what is unclear, continue doing what you do understand to the best of your ability, and trust that all is already working out as it should. Most importantly, extend grace to yourself throughout this lifelong journey. Jisie ike.
