Wendy is an entertainment attorney who served as an executive board member and chair of the Tulsa Film, Music, Arts, and Culture Commission (Tulsa FMAC) from January 2017 to December 2021. Tulsa FMAC has long advocated for Twisted Arts, a Tulsa-based organization dedicated to championing, celebrating, uplifting, and amplifying 2SLGBTQ+ artists throughout Oklahoma through excellence in independent films, music, performances, and mixed media. The acronym 2SLGBTQ+ stands for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and Intersex or androgynous, with the “+” encompassing additional identities not explicitly named. As Oklahoma’s Attorney General, Gentner Drummond has declared obscene drag shows illegal and pledged to prosecute them, despite the fact that the Tulsa Film, Music, Arts, and Culture Commission previously chaired by his wife has openly supported groups involved in drag performances in Tulsa, some of which have even been geared toward children.
