If social media is any indication, were a zombie apocalypse to ever break out, the zombies would die of starvation for lack of brains from their victims.

Since I’ve had several people comment who cannot seem to comprehend the text in Exodus, let me clarify: Exodus 21:22 - “When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine.” This portion of the passage explains that if a pregnant woman is injured in a fight between two men and this results in a premature delivery where there is no harm to the child, then the judge will award financial compensation. This is NOT a miscarriage. This is a premature birth brought on by the injury. Exodus 21:23–25 - “But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.” This portion of the passage deals with harm that comes to the child as a result of the premature delivery. This harm can come in the form of any number of injuries, up to and including death. The consequences of this harm are like injury, up to and including death, on the person who committed the act resulting in the premature delivery. Therefore, this has direct application to abortion because the act that causes abortion causes harm to the child in the womb, specifically, it kills the baby. It is unbelievable that so many people want to find a way around the clear teaching of Scripture on the matter, but when dealing with people who hate babies and want them dead, it is not surprising.

The Bible is not silent on abortion. The Bible teaches that it is God who knits us together in our mother’s wombs. (Ps. 139:13) The Bible teaches that we cannot murder. (Ex. 20:13) The Bible teaches that when someone strikes a pregnant woman, causing her to deliver the baby, any injury to the child is afflicted on the guilty party. (Ex. 21:22-25) Jesus taught that all of the law was the word of God and that none of it would pass away until everything that he intended was accomplished. (Matt. 5:17-24) Paul, the apostle called by Christ, taught that all of Scripture is the word of God inspired the Holy Spirit. (2 Tim. 3:16-17) Therefore, Jesus, who is God the Son, spoke clearly that abortion is the murder of the child in the womb because all throughout Scripture we have evidence that a child in the womb is a person knit together by God and anyone who causes injury to the child shall face justice. Our nation creates law all the time that tell both men and women what they cannot do with their bodies. You cannot use your body to rob someone. You can out use your body to assault someone. You cannot use your body to rape someone. And you cannot use your body to murder someone. A pregnant woman who aborts a child is murdering that child (a person that has its own body separate from hers, yet dependent on her). Therefore, Talarico is purposefully lying about the Bible in order to justify his own hatred of children and willingness to allow women to commit outright murder.

Please tell me I am not the only one who is tired of well-intended Christians making broad-brushed, legalistic demands of the church in how we need to counter the current cultural zeitgeist on any number of moral issues? Like, seriously, can we not recognize that there are some issues that do require at least some measure of nuance? Not every problem is a nail in demand of a 12-pound sledgehammer to fix the issue. Just saying.

This has been a weird issue to watch unfold. I’ve never quite seen such entitlement to something as simple as being told it isn’t financially wise to eat out for lunch daily. I am 52 years old, retired from law enforcement, and working a new full time job. I make better money now than I ever have before due to having 2 incomes, and I still don’t eat out daily. Most of my life, I took lunches to work because it was financially practical. Eating out daily is expensive. It also isn’t very healthy. I didn’t do this so I could “live large” in my later years. I did it because I needed to be wise about my finances and live within my means. Don’t get me wrong, I made many bad choices financially at times, purchasing things I thought I could afford at the time that came back to bite me later. Or buying on credit that cost me more in the long run. But, as a husband and father of two sons, my income was about caring for my family in the moment. It wasn’t about splurging on costly lunches out. My wife stayed at home and homeschooled our boys. We had to pay for that out of our own pocket. My wife faced numerous health challenges that, while we had insurance, required even more financial contributions. We lived in a county separate from where I worked. For several years, the gas for that commute was on my on dime. My wife has always been a blessing in this, being mindful of unnecessary spending, looking for the best deals, keeping us frugal in within a reasonable budget. This idea that it’s “unfair” to be kept within a budget and not being able to “live it up” in your youth reveals just how self-centered some people’s thinking really is. This isn’t about fairness, it is about wisdom, maturity, and not putting oneself in a place where they become a financial burden on others because they are unwilling to control their own spending habits. While this is an issue every generation faces, the current generation is dealing it out in spades. The fear of not measuring up to the Instagram lifestyles they see on their phones makes it even worse. Your finances are not there to satisfy every whim or lust that crosses your mind. It is there to provide the necessities of life for yourself and your family. As you learn to manage your money and put off the things that are not necessary today, you will be in a better position to enjoy those little luxuries as the years go by. And by the way, even retired and with better income, I still eat leftovers for lunch. It’s healthier, less costly, and my wife is a better cook than most restaurants.

I make a motion that henceforth all internet arguments be settled by frying pan combat!

The Bible is more than just a book of good advice for your life. It is the living word of God that judges the thoughts of our hearts. Approach it with the respect and awe that it deserves.

I have zero confidence that any of this will improve my visibility. AI is a horrible tool to maintain an algorithm, but @elonmusk ain’t gonna care what a small fry like me has to say. I’m just gonna keep doing what I’m doing and leave it to God.

@BMcGrewvy I would not recommend anyone be more like Megyn Kelly. In fact, I would recommend being a lot LESS like her.
