Here's a structural map of a solution. Orientation at the top. Thomistic in logic: ordered ends, hierarchy of goods, common good, law, authority, justice, participation & continuity. A basis for resisting managerial capture & reordering systems toward metaphysical alignment.

Apparently that's true about Buddhist temples ordaining AI monks. As far as I understand it, Buddhism has room for this designation b/c Buddhist metaphysics generally denies that beings have an eternal self-substance. So, identity is conventional & functionally dependent.

Is it just me or do the giants of science tend to be metaphysical realists? The more renowned, the more likely they are to believe reality has a deep intelligible order & that the mind can discover it. The least renowned treat science as models, methods & useful descriptions.

@OrdoFramework I liked Gates before I knew about his connections and influences with crazy ass WEF. I never liked Jobs. To me, Jobs was more of a grifter. Gates is a Technocrat oligarch 😱

@OrdoFramework I saw a youtube video some time ago, which she uploaded claiming stupid unscientific conspiracy. I cannot fathom someone like that to be a scientist.

@iammethankyou I suppose a scientist would be someone working in the hard sciences (maths, physics, etc.). A realist meaning metaphysical realism (Plato, Aristotle, etc.). What is a grifter?

@OrdoFramework What is the definition of scientist and realist here? Einstein is a theoretical physicist. I'm not familiar with Hossenfelder but as far as I know she's a grifter making dumb claims in Youtube She keeps popping up on my recommended and so I saw one for a minute and said fuck this

They fed one university's book collection into a shredder. There's a lot going on the world, but it's worth remembering that China is still actively engaged in cultural genocide. They're barely even hiding it, they openly talk about the need to 'correct' Uyghur culture and create 'ethnic unity'. They are openly destroying an entire culture as efficiently as they can, cutting children off from parents, restricting language, restricting religious practice, forcing sterilizations and intermarriage, imprisoning anyone who resists the tiniest amount and shipping them out to forced labor factories. When I look at Hollywood actors, sports stars, tech/media moguls, superstar musicians, political influencers, etc., I notice that society’s highest rewards often go to those who virtue signal over symptoms while distracting from, monetising, or delaying any reckoning with causes.

@tigerkay3eerf It's not pleasant, you're right. But take comfort that you're reacting in the only sane way :) Yes, the Chosen series is great, isn't it? I think the man who plays Jesus Christ is the standout performer by some distance.

Oh, thank you for sharing your experience - it really resonates with me. These days, I feel completely politically homeless. I’m trying to pursue a pure, Christian, reality-based way of thinking that isn’t distorted by partisan politics or any power agenda. But it’s honestly so hard to find. By the way, watching The Chosen series has been such a healing time for me.

I think I first became sickened by politics in my early 20s. I fell for the initial Tony Blair hype after a long period of abject misery under the Tories. When I realised the only change was the colour of the ties our leaders were wearing, that's when I checked out.
