@DJWarnerStage Hell so many of the most popular indie games amongst even younger peeps borrow so heavily stylistically from old games too? Like if a kid enjoys undertale and deltarune I don't think they'd struggle going back to older sprite based games

@DJWarnerStage Also when I was a kid I was able to get into older stuff just fine? The GBA was partially built on ports of SNES games, then the virtual console.. it's just a matter of adequate exposure and access towards said games

@midnightlunachr Goddd yeaaa.. been doing the same thing cos I've been on a small FF binge (finished a replay of 5 a couple days ago) but cos I took a several month long break between 4-5 my head is like WHOOP GOTTA RESET SO ITS FRESH IN YOUR HEAD and I'm fighting that line of thought

@fancyoverture Yeaaa like, I replayed it fairly recently, and I do think it's genuinely good at letting the player discover stuff? But that's cos behind the scenes it's more guided then you'd think? Even aside from dungeons stuff like bombable walls follow really consistent rules

The dungeons are literally numbered and many of them require items from previous dungeons to beat, such as the raft or the ladder. The open world is vast for its era, yes, but you cannot beat the game in "any order you like" as a casual player

@InstantReplay17 Like for example with dragon ball I don't think king piccolo would be nearly as impactful if you didn't have the small borderline slice of life chapters and episodes letting you connect deeper with the cast before the gut punches and high stakes fights

@InstantReplay17 Yeaaa I kinda worry a lot of smaller character moments are gonna be seen as expendable? And at least for me with battle shounen the small character stuff matters a ton cos the big dramatic serious or hype moments are way more effective for me when I care about the characters

You know this isn’t an accurate estimation because when adapting chapters tv episode pacing has to be considered therefore the amount of chapters and content being adapted is much smaller and larger depending on things. Like alabasta in less than 20 episodes?

If the One Piece remake by WIT sticks to about 7–8 chapters per episode, then they would adapt the pre-timeskip in roughly: East Blue Saga: 100 chapters ≈ 14 episodes Alabasta Saga: 117 chapters ≈ 16-17 episodes Sky Island Saga: 85 chapters ≈ 12 episodes Water 7 Saga: 139 chapters ≈ 19-20 episodes Thriller Bark Saga: 48 chapters ≈ 6-7 episodes Summit War Saga: 108 chapters ≈ 15 episodes That gives a total of approximately 82-85 episodes (597 chapters)

@OutOfTheShadow9 I personally really like the game. My only real issue with it is that it's too easy. Like, I LOVE the idea of combining techs, but I felt like the game doesn't push you to do much with them other than to just upgrade the to the stronger version.

@St1ka Yeaa like, I adore Chrono trigger, my only mild critique if I had to pick one would be.. I think that placing towns largely on the overworld results in them having less mood than a lot of other SNES RPGs at the time? (Also I kinda prefer having 4 party members over 3 myself)

I'm happy that Pac-Land is the central location of Pac-Man again. For a while, it just felt like Namco wanted to default Pac to the maze location... I mean it's iconic, I won't deny that. But it's awesome of them to actually give the series an actual main setting again!
