July 3, 2022. Moss Point, Mississippi. A car carrying 3 teenage girls drives down the I-10 boat launch and plunges straight into the Pascagoula River. The driver later tells police she was following her GPS. She had no idea it was leading her off the edge and into the water. By the time she realizes what's happening, the car is already floating. Then sinking. The vehicle drifts 20 feet from shore. Then more. The girls climb onto the roof of the car as it goes under. The water is black. It is the middle of the night. And the Pascagoula River is known for one other thing most people don't think about until it's too late. Alligators. Corion Evans, age 16, a student at Pascagoula High School, is nearby when it happens. He hears the girls screaming for help. He doesn't hesitate for a single second. He throws down his phone. Pulls off his shoes. Strips off his shirt. And jumps in. He later says: I was just like, I can't let none of these folks die. They need to get out the water. So I just started getting them. I wasn't even thinking about nothing else. The car is nearly submerged. The girls are panicking. The water is deep and dark and moving. Corion swims out — 25 yards from shore — and reaches them. His friend Karon Bradley, known as KJ, jumps in right behind him. Together they help get the girls onto the surface of the sinking car. But here is what most people miss: Corion doesn't just help them float. He swims them back. 1 at a time. Into shore. Through the dark water. With legs that are burning and lungs that are working as hard as they ever have. 2 girls make it to shore. The 3rd can't swim. She is still on the roof when a responding officer arrives. Moss Point Police Officer Gary Mercer swims out to help. He reaches the remaining girl and begins pulling her toward shore. Then the girl panics. She grabs him. She pulls him under. Officer Mercer begins to drown. Corion turns around. He sees the officer going under. He hears him calling for help. He is already exhausted. His legs are already spent. He has already pulled 2 people through 25 yards of alligator-infested river in the dead of night. He swims back out. He grabs Officer Mercer. He says later: I went and I grabbed the police officer and I'm like swimming him back until I feel myself I can walk. All 4 people make it to shore alive. Officer Mercer and all 3 girls are taken to the hospital. All of them recover. Chief Brandon Ashley of the Moss Point Police Department later says publicly: If Mr. Evans had not assisted, it could have possibly turned out tragically instead of all occupants rescued safely. Moss Point Mayor Billy Knight presents Corion with a certificate of commendation from the city. He says: We are proud of the young man for having the courage to forget about himself and jump into the water. It's not often enough that you see people put others above themselves. The recognition doesn't stop there. The Mississippi Senate formally commends Corion Evans by name in Senate Resolution 32 of the 2023 legislative session — a rare honor for a teenager from a small town. His mother, Marquita Evans, speaks to reporters afterward. She says: I was really proud of Corion because he wasn't just thinking about himself. He was trying to really get all those people out the water. I'm glad nothing happened to him while he was trying to save other people's lives. Corion tells reporters he has been swimming since he was 3 years old. He is asked if he was scared. He says: Anything could've been in that water. But I wasn't thinking about it. That is the part that stays with you. He knew the risks. The darkness. The distance. The wildlife beneath the surface. The weight of another person pulling you under. He knew all of it and he swam out anyway. Not once. Not twice. Three times. 4 people are alive today because a 16-year-old boy decided, without hesitating for even a moment, that strangers were worth saving.

The Obama Deadman’s SSN This isn’t really about one SSN. It’s about a much deeper phenomenon: Barack Obama’s entire personal history is a hall of mirrors. Sealed academic records. A literary agent’s bio that listed his birthplace as Kenya (later blamed on a “fact-checking error”). A birth certificate that took years to release and was immediately challenged by forensic document examiners. A Social Security number with a Connecticut prefix when he lived in Hawaii. A Selective Service registration card that shows signs of alteration. A mother who somehow traveled to Kenya in the third trimester of pregnancy in 1961—a destination that commercial airlines at the time wouldn’t even allow pregnant women to board for. Each individual anomaly has an institutional “explanation.” A typo. A clerk’s error. A misunderstanding. But when you stack them all up, you’re looking at a statistical improbability that would make any honest actuary’s head spin. The Ludwig SSN theory may be factually wrong on the specific number. But the question it’s trying to answer—why is there so much weirdness around this man’s documentation?—remains entirely legitimate. And what was the CIA’s involvement? And why?

Tucker Carlson says that the Ottomans were very kind to Christians. Don't forget that 200 years ago, in Chios, 42,000 Greek Christians were massacred by the Muslim Turks and 52,000 were sold into slavery. It was a taste of their kindness.

For the first time, researchers have identified exactly what Roman builders were adding to their concrete to make it last for centuries.... At an unfinished building site in Pompeii, abandoned during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, archaeologists uncovered something rare: Roman concrete materials that were prepared but never mixed. That frozen moment revealed how Roman builders actually made their concrete. Instead of mixing lime and water the way we do today, they combined quicklime with volcanic ash first, then added water. The reaction produced intense heat and left behind tiny fragments of reactive lime trapped inside the hardened concrete. When cracks later formed and water seeped in, those fragments reacted again and sealed the damage from within. In other words, some Roman concrete was intentionally engineered to heal its own cracks — and it’s still doing it nearly 2,000 years later. Archaeological Park of Pompeii #archaeohistories

The Muslim invaders raped so many European women and killed so many European men as they blitzed across the Mediterranean world that the population went from looking like Romans to looking like Arabs And even if they didn't tax churches, they abducted Christian boys and raped them, or turned them into janissaries, as shown by the twin tales of Skanderbeg and his brother This is why Martel and the Franks were heroic for stopping them at Tours, the Hospitallers were heroic for stopping them at Malta, and the Poles were heroic for saving Vienna Muslim invasion brought with it the same problems as Muslim migration, which is the horrific rape, abuse, and murder of Christians

Theologian JD Hall to Tucker Carlson: The Muslim rulers didn't tax churches during the Ottoman period. They were very kind to Christians. As a matter of fact, they took care of our holy sites. Islamic authorities rebuilt the Church of the Holy Sepulchre three different times over the centuries. They had a law protecting Christian pilgrims on their journey. Nobody messed with the pilgrims.

A century ago, one in every four big trees in the eastern forests of America was a chestnut, and every autumn the country under them ate for free. The American chestnut was a giant, a hundred feet tall, and there were close to four billion of them from Maine to the Deep South. Each autumn they dropped a carpet of sweet nuts so thick you raked it up by the sackful. Families roasted them all winter. Hogs and cattle were turned loose in the woods to fatten on them for nothing. Turkey, deer and bear lived off the same mast. The timber, straight and rot-proof, built the barns, the fence posts and the furniture. One tree fed the people, fattened the livestock, carried the wildlife through winter, then built the house. Then in 1904 a blight arrived on imported Asian chestnut stock, spotted first on the trees at the Bronx Zoo. It moved through the forest at fifty miles a year, and by the 1940s it had killed close to four billion trees, nearly every mature chestnut on the continent. One of the worst ecological catastrophes in the country's history. Here is the part that should stop you. The tree is not quite dead. The old roots still send up shoots, year after year, that the blight cuts down before they grow tall enough to fruit. A century on, the stumps are still trying, and still failing. A free harvest that fed a continent every autumn for thousands of years, gone in forty, and still reaching for a sky it will never reach again.

A journalist leaked 11.5 million documents proving the elites, politicians and celebrities were using offshore entities as tax havens, to launder money and to hide assets The woman who leaked it was named Daphne Caruana Galizia, she was killed by a car bomb near her home “Remember 10 years ago when the Panama Papers came out and confirmed that elites use offshore bank accounts and shell companies to move their money around and pay as close to zero in taxes as they possibly can? And all that happened was the journalist that leaked it all got assassinated?” Here’s what happened A massive leak of 11.5 million documents (2.6+ terabytes) from Mossack Fonseca, a Panamanian law firm specializing in offshore shell companies It exposed wealthy elites, politicians, celebrities and criminals used offshore entities in tax havens (Panama, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, and more to hide assets, move money secretly, avoid taxes, launder funds, and dodge sanctions. It involved 214,000+ offshore entities, touching people in 200+ countries. Named 12 current and former world leaders, 128+ other politicians and public officials, plus businessmen, athletes and more Almost all powerful figures faced little to no personal consequences Exposing crimes means nothing if no one goes to jail

Oak trees talking to each other over long distances…
Give A Shit About Nature@giveashitnature

Oak trees have evolved a smart way to overwhelm the animals that eat acorns. Every few years, across hundreds of miles, they drop a massive number of acorns all at once. The year before, almost nothing. The year after, almost nothing again. It's called masting, and the strategy is brilliant. Squirrels, deer, blue jays, turkeys, and bears all eat acorns. If oaks produced a steady crop every year, the animals would maintain populations sized exactly to eat most of it. By producing almost nothing for several years and then flooding the forest floor all at once, the trees overwhelm the predators. There are simply too many acorns for the animals to eat, and the surplus germinates into the next generation of oak trees. The ones that hoard and forget, squirrels especially, become inadvertent planters. What's harder to explain is the synchrony. How do oaks across 700 kilometers coordinate the same decision in the same year? The leading explanations involve shared weather cues, a specific temperature pattern in spring that acts as a trigger across the whole region, and possibly pollen coupling, where trees that need pollen from other trees synchronize flowering and, by extension, fruiting. Chemical signaling through the air or soil is a third hypothesis still being investigated. None of these fully accounts for the scale. The trees aren't talking in any way we can intercept and understand. They're responding to the same world and arriving at the same answer, simultaneously, across a landscape larger than most countries.
