When it comes to launching a new project, shipping is critical — but it’s only part of what drives real long-term success.
Here are 5 things we see founders consistently overlook — and what separates the launches that land from the ones that don't.
→ Narrative Clarity: If your team can't explain what you're building in one sentence, your community won't be able to either. Your story needs to be sharp before it's loud.
→ Community Education: Hype gets attention. Understanding drives conviction. The projects that retain users post-launch are the ones that took time to teach their community what they were actually building and why it matters.
→ Brand Perception: Founders obsess over the product and forget how they're being perceived. Your tone, visuals, and consistency across every touchpoint are shaping people's opinions long before TGE.
→ Communication Structure: Knowing what to say, when to say it, and how to show up when things don't go to plan is a skill that many teams only learn the hard way.
→ Post-Launch Planning: Launch day isn't the finish line. It's day one. The projects that sustain momentum have a plan for what comes after. Many don't.

When it comes to new project launches, how you build matters just as much as what you build. The era of "trust us, it's coming" is over. Show your tech. Share your iterations. Let people watch the product come to life. And be honest about the struggle. Every build has moments where things break, timelines slip, and the solution isn't obvious. Share those moments. Then share how you got through them. Watching a team overcome adversity in real time builds more trust than any announcement ever will. When your community grows up alongside your product, they don't just become users; they become believers. The build IS the marketing.
